Anybody seen Foxcatcher yet? Looks insanely good.
Heard good things about Foxcatcher.
Seeing Hot Tub Time Machine 2 tonight. Loved the first one, ready to be really really disappointed by the second.
you gonna do a recap of the oscars? if so send me the link (or @ me)
ps seeing birdman tonight, pretty excited
Nah
The guy who made Birdman is coming out with another film this year (The Revenant), it's a western thriller starring Dicaprio
Perfect, he can not win an Oscar in 364 days!
I may be in the minority on this, but I am really pumped for the new Terminator. I've love the series so they sorta can do no wrong for me (even though 3 was kinda weak and 4 was had issues as well). I like the cast of the Khaleesi from GoT since she's got alot of momentum right now and Arnold being back is also key.
I like the Terminator series as well but I'm wary of any sequel in general. I can only think of a handful of sequels that have actually been really good, with the The Dark Knight being a recent example
You could argue T2 falls into that category as well.
This series def went off the tracks with 3 and 4 so I guess I'm just hoping they can find a way to bring it back and end it in a way wraps up the story well. At the end of the day, I'm old enough to really care about these films which probably is not the case for most of the people on this board today. I'm also a huge Arnold fan so this being his real signature role, I'm hoping he can close out this series in a good way and not an embarrassing way.
Entourage movie is coming out in 2015
+1 from me for the Entourage movie!!
And keeping Star Wars and Terminator? How are these not effectively the same as superhero movies? Minus the Marvel influence of course.
Your flippant comparison of cheesy super hero movies to the Terminator really has me tweaked. My guess is you're under 22 with that kind of disrespect of a classic.
More than a bit ridiculous. Superhero movies are great fun.
Anyhow, my addition is the new Bond movie, Spectre. Daniel Craig always delivers and Skyfall was amazing.
I went ahead and balanced out whoever threw monkey shit at you. You're spot on with Spectre, it looks great and they've been making some great movies with Daniel Craig. This is his last though, right?
I'm a big horror fan. Excited for Insidious 3.
I am a huge James Bond fan so I'm stoked for Spectre. Jurassic World should be awesome too.
I was originally excited for St. James Place, only because I knew the Coen bros were attached to it, but now that I know Spielberg is directing and Tom Hanks is the lead I'm pretty turned off. Those two are not favorites of mine at all. I am much more excited when I know the CB are directing, screen writing, and producing.
I'm a fan of Natalie Portman, but Jane Got a Gun looks terrible.
I lost all faith in films by Marvel Comics / DC Comics after Ironman 3, which is one of the worst movies I've ever seen.
Movies like The Dark Knight, Watchmen, and V for Vendetta were enjoyable though, as they were dark, stylish, and contained some social commentary.
Looking forward to Tomorrowland; the trailer showed a lot of promise and Brad Bird has done some great work. Inside Out also looks interesting. Maybe MI:5? I like Tom Cruise as an actor (crushed it in Edge of Tomorrow and the last MI) but it will be hard to follow up the last MI, plus no Brad Bird. I saw Kingsman last week and I'm pretty sure it'll be in my top 5 for 2015, so entertaining.
I usually don't watch Pixar but that looks funny and clever Haha
Kingsman movie doesn't look too bad...
Legend starring Tom Hardy as the Kray twins, Ronald and Reginald, looks like it has a lot of promise.
I've updated the list with people's suggestions so far and added two more of my own
Sea of Trees seems very promising, hope it comes out this year. Directed by the guy who made Good Will Hunting and starring Matthew Mcconaughey
Demolition is by the guy who made Wild (my favorite from 2014) and is about an investment banker played by Jake Gyllenhaal
The Walk could also be interesting but is probably one of those movies like Gravity that you have to see in IMAX 3D or otherwise it won't be as good.
I saw Ex Machina the other day and while I didn't think it was at the "omg" level that some people seem to be saying it is, it definitely was very engaging.
Saw it as well. Quite good I thought, pretty intelligent and thought provoking film.
I'm reviving this thread because I just saw the trailer for The Revenant.
This movie looks breathtaking. The cinematography is world-class. Also, the source material, the life of Hugh Glass, is just epic. Really looking forward to this one.
Totally agree, saw the trailer when I went to see Rogue Nation...took my breath away. I think it has the potential to be best film of the year, will be interesting to see if it matches expectations.
An early review for Legend.

Unsurprisingly, it looks like Tom Hardy carries the film.
What did you guys think about Mad Max? I just watched it and although it was entertaining and well filmed I don't think it deserves the 97% rating it got from Rotten Tomatoes. They basically rank it in the top 20 movies of all time.
Thoughts?
I watched it last night. There are two ratings on Rotten Tomatoes. 1.) The amount of critics that gave it a "fresh" score vs. "rotten" score. 2.) The average score the movie was given. Mad Max received a 97% fresh score but an 8.7/10 rating.
That being said, I think an 8.7/10 is an appropriate rating for the movie. It was non-stop, in your face action that kept me entertained for 2+ hours and my eyes glued to the screen. There was no some sappy love story that was built into it, no B.S boring dialogue, just pure action.
