Hi, I need to finalize my list for Spring 2011 Transfer.
I currently have a 3.65 cumulative at a cc. Copresident of Finance & Investment Society.
Up 23% from 2010, even in this volatile market of course with low capital=2k.
BTW shorted the April top =]
Phi Theta Kappa, working full time while going to school. Insurance internship over the summer.
Finance major...I know math is a better major to get recruited but not my strong field anymore...
Anyways I know there are better schools like Wharton, Berkley, but I am being realistic.
University of Illinois–Urbana Champaign- My first choice.

I chose these schools after researching countless hours on avg GPA and also their finance program such as trading labs, managing real money programs, etc.
I was wondering if anyone has any input on particular schools I should avoid on the list above...and any schools I should look at thats not on the list.
For example NYU was in my list, but they dont accept transfer for Spring 2011 so off my list for now.
Considert an MSF as well, I know UIUC has a good one.
Fyi, if you can make money, explain your strategy, show that you can replicate it AND relate the volatility aspect to the previous factors...most if not all prop shops/trading firms will AT LEAST sit and talk to you. In other words, don't sweat the school as much as sharpening your skill set. Just my general opinion on the subject.
I will def considering a MSF as opposed to MBA if I dont get straight into trading....even being a trading assistant, i wont mind. I am reading up on a lot of things on trading as a hobby...but I feel like I need to get great grades too. Since I love trading stocks, learning about finance is actually pretty interesting too.

Northeastern stole one of our finance professors in 2006. She was eastern European, kind of hot, and really smart.
avoid northeastern, i have heard many of their grads are struggling. the other schools listed are much better.
