19yearold needs career advice
Hi everyone.
I live in Asia but I am studying my undergraduate degree in Canada. I am going into my sophomore year next fall. Currently, I am working at a fund of funds as a summer analyst and enrolling in a 4 week financial modelling course (IBI). I realized I want to go into investment banking/capital advisory and not Asset Management/hedge fund stuff. Do you think that my financial modeling and my summer experience can grab me an investment banking intern next summer (aiming for boutiques)?
Also the reason why im doing all these extra stuff is because i was kinda cocky and messed up my 2nd semester which resulted in a gpa of 3.2/4.0. Im pretty sure I can pull it back to a 3.5/3.6ish. I really hope you guys can give me advice on what I should do next to land an investment banking internship next summer.
thank you for caring
Hope that somebody can give you good advice. Good luck.

Short answer is to bring your GPA up and start networking ASAP. Get your interview prep down so when you do get a shot you nail it.
Good luck and welcome! Patrick
Hey man,
Why dont you pm me, I have a bit of prep material that might help you out. I also came from Asia and recently got into IBD, so I'll try and share some stuff that helped me out.
