A real leader and great speaker
I was going to post this for Veteran's day and never got around to it but I don't want it to get stale and I actually think it serves several purposes that are relevant in the forum.
First, it provides us with an example of how a great leader should present himself. It showcases some phenomenal speaking abilities which are expressly important when telling a story and/or conveying a point and it shows us that it's possible to converse without a teleprompter. For some people that capability is rather unimportant but I contest that it is...especially when you are conducting impromptu negotiations with other world leaders, etc., because I highly doubt you will have one in front of you then. That point is prompted by some of the comments and threads we've had in the past talking about how Obama is the end all be all of orators. As I've said in the past, he is sub-par in my book and the video is a great example as to how I came to that conclusion
Secondly, it should help lay to rest some of the mud flinging about the military being the last option for most service members or that there aren't some serious, top notch guys in the military, at all levels, in all branches. The content also shows that the military can be a great option for many people, even if there is a bias towards the poor or lower class, and that it can provide a fantastic path to achieving your dreams/goals.
Lastly it should serve as motivation to everyone that 'impossible is nothing' and that you are what you make yourself. This probably applies more to the kids in school who don't think they have a shot at Wall Street, or whatever else they may want to do, but can easily be applied to those seeking continued success. This is partially prompted by the OWS crowd who are being held back by the hand of invisible forces. It also serves as a brief guide to those that are currently in leadership positions or that wish to be.
It is long, but worth watching the whole thing, even if you have to break it up into pieces. Honestly, that was my initial intent and I ended up sitting through the whole video.
I also want to send out a belated "Thank You" to all of our members who have served and are serving. This video profiles some seriously accomplished veterans that have truly embodied the term 'self-less service". Enjoy...
Regards
Watched the whole video in one sitting. Well worth it.
Yeah, I watched about 25 minutes of it cause I've got shit to do but it was really interesting... almost makes me want to join the Air Force haha
Thought I would only spend 10min on that video, but saw it through. Well worth the 50 minutes.
