ANEX Advantage internship before MSF or MMS?

Anyone have any information on the ANEX Advantage internship (internship you pay to be part of)? Is it worth the money? What types of "firms" do you really intern at?

I have no finance experience (engineering undergrad with ~ 1 yr FT engineering experience) and I will be applying at Duke's MMS and Villanova's MSF programs. I am wondering if I do this internship program prior to the Masters programs will it give me a better chance of landing an analyst position in IB after completion of the Masters program?

I'm trying to find SA positions but its tough coming from a non-target engineering background. I'm still working my networking game so hopefully I find something worthwhile.

Thanks.

Regards, D

But as a last resort (right before the begining of the summer) would this be a good idea?

so you are not looking for full time positions at all? I would do that first......

it's a super small boutique which I don't even think has any deal flow but is rather set up just to facilitate this program.

Best Response

I've applied at about 40 FT places (BBs, MMs) in the NYC and Stamford Area...no luck. I figure this is the next best thing.

I am still working on some leads, hopefully I get responses back.

Duke's MMS program does have pre-placement programs for their admitted students...I just have to apply and get in early enough. I spoke with admissions today and they said there are a decent amount of kids who get into IB winter internships and internships prior to starting the program.

I guess i'll go bust my ass on some GMAT studying and the application.
