1. I understand my GPA is on the lower side. I definitely have some explaining to do in my interviews.
2. Critique as little or as much as you want. I help review a number of people's resumes in my business school, but since this is my resume I probably have a biased eye whether I know it or not so it would certainly be a great deal of help to get the advice from the posters here.
Additional Details: I am currently a sophomore at a semi-target in Texas. I have recently just been hired as a part-time analyst at a relatively small HF in Houston. I also found out that I have an interview with a BB for a wealth management internship for the summer (Not BoA). I kind of realize I may be taking a step back from going from an analyst intern at a HF to a WM internship, so I'm still currently keeping my options open.
I'm not too worried about that interview, but I would like to tailor my resume for IBD and possibly oil & gas trading.
Thanks guys.
You don't need the exact date on your experience points. Just the month and year will suffice.
I notice you're writing most of your experience in the current tense even though it happened in the past. Change the tense to past. And what olalfenizer said, just month & year.
@olafenizer: Thanks for the tip. It is now changed.
@Asatar: Great catch. I never noticed that while I was reading it. Thanks a lot.
What is computer hardware and software under technical skills mean?
I keep up with the current computer news and technologies. I used to build computers so I know the ins and outs of the various components that building a computer requires.
In hindsight "computer hardware and software" is incredibly vague lol. Any suggestions on how to re-word this?
Yeah. Leave it out. It sounded like you were familiar with how to use a computer, and even if you keep up with this stuff as an interest, put it down in interests.
Try and add more to your Hedge Fund Analyst role. Also definitely keep your options open as far as your internship goes. Who knows. Maybe at the HF they would have you writing reports or building 3 statement models. Which is invaluable for later.
Thanks for the advice. Yeah I can see where you're coming from. That part is now taken out.
This is a bit off topic, but is there any negative connotations with having an internship at a HF and then having a PWM internship after that? Is that a questionable move or can it be easily dismissed during an interview if I have a confident and reasonable answer for it? Thanks.
Anyone else have any feedback? I know the resume can't be that perfect lol.
Should I quantify my work experience more?
