Seeing that your name is "Krishna," yes there are many South Asians in finance. One of the more interesting things I've noticed is that there are more Indians than Pakistanis, Bengalis, or Sri Lankans. However, in London, the amount of Indians and Pakistanis are pretty equal. Maybe that's just because there are less Pakis in the world than Indians, but that's my breakdown of that demographic.

I think OP was referring to the performance of Indians and other Asians in IBD at the senior level. Any idea how Indians and other Asians (from Asia) who have been in US for the past 6-7 years, have a US MBA and are quite familiar with US culture have done in Investment banking (Coverage or Product) after the Associate/VP level. From what I understand as you get to the VP level and above in IBD, it is your deal making skills that matter more than your quantitative skills. Of course, we have the likes of Vikram Pandit (Citi) and Anshu Jain (DB) but how has their performance been in general in investment banking? Have they risen through the ranks in IBD? Thanks!
