Babson College
Im going to be a freshman as Babson this fall. I plan on concentrating in Quantitative Analysis. What can I do for myself to better prepare me for a career in IB. Is an internship after my freshman year to early?

so i'm a newb to the realm of investment banking. i'm still i high school and was wondering what is your say on Babson College. Does it get any recruits and is it worth going too ?
I work at a BB and I know of two Babson alums in the analyst program.
Babson is like Bentley (i think) in that it focuses on the entrepenurial skill sets.....it still sees recruiting but not nearly as much as the top schools
if you want to go into finance, it will get you there, its finance program is overshadowed by the rep for "entrepreneurship", but it has some of the best faculty and outstanding connections, every year bb's take recruits

How is this college on the street?
"Huh?" That is what you will hear.
i think that was the last name of the guy who drove me home in the black car the other day
Chairman of State Street Global Alliance went there
Babson's year? (Originally Posted: 07/14/2015)
Money's rankings are out for best four year colleges in the country, where Babson placed #2 overall and was the only school to get a base grade of an 'A'. Are recruiters going to start to take notice of BeaverTown? A lot of input has been commented about Babson's curriculum being one of the truest representations of "earning" your grade. Any beavers here/ monkeys who have any thoughts/comments? Think we'll see a spike in IB, S&T, consulting, etc. OCR for the coming year, or is this Money Mag merit only given because of the entrepreneurship rep Babson has?
I knew this kid in high school that went to Babson and graduated this year. He currently works at a boutique as an analyst in the Greater Boston area. The opportunities are definitely there if you capitalize on them, anyways I hope this helps.
You might see a small pickup but not a huge spike. As someone who is heavily involved in recruiting at a BB firm, I can tell you a lot of what drives which schools we go to is alumni in senior positions. If all your MDs went to Wharton, you're going to be more likely to do OCR there than other schools.
Coming from Babson, it's on fire. Lots of finance and consulting jobs opening up to students. JPM, GS, and Blackstone hiring a lot of students.
