So I have been looking around WSO for a definitive answer to if Big 4 TAS is worth it. The big question is if it has real transaction experience which most monkeys search for. If so can one make the leap from Big 4 TAS to IBD. Also another variable to consider is that this thread is for US only. I believe Big 4 TAS in Europe is substantial (correct?). Hopefully, by the end of this thread we can get some concluding ideas from all you monkeys.

From what I've read/heard
From what I've read/heard it's hard to make the TAS to IBD jump without an MBA (i.e. get an MBA after TAS). Also heard and seen first hand that the TAS people want to go into banking because it's just not the same

I am currently in TAS in one of the big 4 in UK. My advise is, if you want to do banking then do banking don't do TAS just so that you want to jump to IBD, very different animals. And besides don't be fooled or conned by Big 4 telling you they will train you... They will want you to pass those really annoying exams before actually training you. Meaning they will milk you for 3 years before actually giving you a proper job, whereas if you are at a bank 3 years might have allowed you to close X amount of deals already, or even get promoted to Associate. So think wisely before you sign up to 3 years of crap...

Some interesting takes. I was expecting something similar to what TheBlueCheese said. However, invag has a very different take. I was expecting that Big 4 TAS in EU were actual deal makers. If I am not mistaken, wasn't KPMG on the league tables pretty high up?
Just curious: invag, what exit opportunities are you looking at? Also would a f100 gig be better than Big 4 TAS?
-Thanks for the info guys

Coming to think about it, a F100 gig is perhaps much better in my opinion cause your actually have a life after work, sometime in TAS you put in a lot of hours which is not as harsh as in banking but thinking about it, why bother killing yourself with such as low pay? Anyway this is just my view on things, feel free to ask any more questions
