can someone explain the accelerated interview process for FT recruiting?
Hi, I have heard people mention accelerated interview process on this site a lot for full time. But people usually don't give a lot of info about it. Is this process open only to people interning in S&T or IBD this summer? do the recruiters contact people they are interested in or can we send resumes to recruiters during the summer, or is that frowned upon? If anyone's familiar with the process I really appreciate some insights
Accelerated is usually reserved for interns at other bulge brackets or people who already interviewed with the bank for an internship but didn't quite make it.
Getting into an accelerated process is very hard unless you're already on HR's radar.
which banks have this? and when do these accelerated interviews start?
Most banks have this, I know for a fact GS, Citi, DB and JPM have accelerated programs but as has been said, just getting a spot is a feat in itself.
Most interviews will start around July 30th and last through the end of August.
from my exp last summer--this is pretty much open to anybody already interning at a major bank/firm regardless of division (but obviously certain roles make far more of an impression). banks actively try to poach you by throwing giant sessions that interns invite their friends to, with a convenient resume drop too. higher-ups will be at these briefly so make an impression.
if you made enough of an impression/have a fantastic brand name on your resume/etc. HR will invite you to an early superday at the end of the summer.....don't get your hopes up because spots are still limited as shit and it is one giant game of musical chairs basically. only this time there are fewer chairs and the music does not last as long as SA recruiting.
GS and MS has them from my personal experience. With MS I just got an invite for dinner/drinks shindig. GS, HR contacted me directly. I didn't submit my resume so can't comment on what happens after.
How do they get your information without a resume drop? If I'm working at a "top" BB doing S&T, is it generally assumed I'll get contacted by other banks for accelerated, or should I be talking to recruiters, networking, etc.?

Anyone able to provide info about accelerated interviews for FT positions? I haven't been able to find anything reliable about how they typically work or when they occur.
I've got one with one lower tier bank some point in August. Had an offer for SA from them and turned it down, was invited to networking event in July.
You dont apply, they get in touch with you.

You absolutely have not missed the boat....it's on a rolling basis, and I know several people who have sent emails within the past 2-3 days who are now in the accelerated process at my BB.
That said, if you don't get in the process in the next week or so, yes, you've missed the boat.

These threads about accelerating recruiting are retarded. I know multiple BBs who did accelerated recruiting last year in mid to late September.
Is accelerated recruiting only for people with formal offers already?
You are an intern. Chances are you do not know shit about what you are talking about. When certified users tell you something, they probably have a clue. So, STFU and have a seat.
