can someone explain the accelerated interview process for FT recruiting?

Hi, I have heard people mention accelerated interview process on this site a lot for full time. But people usually don't give a lot of info about it. Is this process open only to people interning in S&T or IBD this summer? do the recruiters contact people they are interested in or can we send resumes to recruiters during the summer, or is that frowned upon? If anyone's familiar with the process I really appreciate some insights

from my exp last summer--this is pretty much open to anybody already interning at a major bank/firm regardless of division (but obviously certain roles make far more of an impression). banks actively try to poach you by throwing giant sessions that interns invite their friends to, with a convenient resume drop too. higher-ups will be at these briefly so make an impression.

if you made enough of an impression/have a fantastic brand name on your resume/etc. HR will invite you to an early superday at the end of the summer.....don't get your hopes up because spots are still limited as shit and it is one giant game of musical chairs basically. only this time there are fewer chairs and the music does not last as long as SA recruiting.

How do they get your information without a resume drop? If I'm working at a "top" BB doing S&T, is it generally assumed I'll get contacted by other banks for accelerated, or should I be talking to recruiters, networking, etc.?

You absolutely have not missed the boat....it's on a rolling basis, and I know several people who have sent emails within the past 2-3 days who are now in the accelerated process at my BB.

That said, if you don't get in the process in the next week or so, yes, you've missed the boat.

Also helps if you're in accelerated processes with competitors and you have an actual personal connection with someone at the bank you want to get into process with.

You missed the point

no. i'm saying you're wrong, and people haven't missed the window. if you have a return offer from a 'good' bank that people have heard of, you have a good shot of getting into accelerated processes still. particularly so if you're interviewing at their competitors (i.e. greenhill vs evercore or gs vs ms), and you have a contact who can push your resume.

You are an intern. Chances are you do not know shit about what you are talking about. When certified users tell you something, they probably have a clue. So, STFU and have a seat.
