I'm trying to apply to PE, but I worked at a sales job at a big bank after my M&A internship. Aside from making the IB section larger to emphasize it, or leaving out the sales job entirely...would it be acceptable to list them in non chronological order to have IB be first, sales second, and so on? (or any other suggesitons?)

That doesn't even make sense, like you said you could leave the sales job out. But people immediately look at dates on resumes and yours would end up in the trash if the dates weren't in chrono order.
Your resume needs to be in order. And I personally think it is a bad idea to leave the information off your resume.
I figured but wanted confirmation. I also don't want my resume to end up in the trash because I took a shot at sales and deviated from the standard path (UG > 2 yrs IB > PE)

Currently my work experience section is a little too packed, so I got rid of a lot of fluff (bullet points, irrelevant temp jobs) and have the following things (not in any specific order)
bb pwm (jan 2011-present) company founder (04-present) company advisor/consultant (jun 2010) law group (mar 2010-june 2010)
I just have no idea about how to go about organizing it. All help is highly appreciated.

Unless I don't understand what you mean by chronological order, every resume is in chronological order. What other order have you seen resumes in?
They're usually in reverse chronological order and usually you will see a person's GPA/Education at the top followed by most previous work experience.
Ok, reverse chronological order. And my education is at the bottom of my resume. Once you get some work experience where you went to school becomes far less important than where you went to college. And I can hardly remember my GPA.

Hi everyone! I'm currently a sophomore at a semi-target. This summer I am planning on studying abroad in Asia but I get back to the States a month and a half before school starts.
Now the issue is, what to do in that month? I probably won't be able to land a legitimate internship so my plan for now is to apply for a retail job just to occupy my time. Should I put this experience (likely flipping burgers or working in a store) on my resume? I already have some decent internship experience from last summer at a relatively well known financial services firm. I'm afraid the new "lesser" experience will take up the prime spot of my better experience from earlier. What do I do?

Don't put it on there.
Depending on how lesser the experience is you can remove it.
Example 1: if you end up literally flipping burgers = exclude
Example 2: you work as a clerk at a finance firm = still likely smarter to exclude
Example 3: You work a temp position somewhat related to running screens on finance companies = include
More likely than not in that short time frame it will be tough to get something relevant to your future jobs.
I'd still put the financial services experience first, grab the attention. Chronological isn't a must.

I worked at a BB during my sophomore summer along with a small financial firm (no name recognition) I have been working at since freshman year. I studied abroad during the first semester of my junior year, however I was still employed by the small financial firm.
Chronologically, I would have to put the small financial firm I've worked at since freshman year on top of my BB experience. However, the experience I had during my BB was much more important and more valuable to a career in IBD. I could put the small financial firm below my BB by stating that my employment ended August 2007, which is pretty accurate since I did not do very much work while I was abroad. I am resuming employment in January.
What do you suggest I do? Thanks.
I'd put the BB first. Your employment with the small firm started first and was a long term thing. I don't think that would be a big deal.
Chronological is better, but I think relevance is more important. Also a BB name will stand out more if it's first.
