Deloitte Fast Track Decision

Hey guys, I'm in quite a favourable situation and I thought I'd ask for some advice. Last summer I applied for a few consulting internships and unfortunately didn't get any, Deloitte however emailed a coupe of months ago inviting me to a 'Top Talent' event which in a nutshell consists of the best of a bad bunch of applicants. There was an assessment at the top talent event and if we passed we were then fast tracked to a final round interview for a graduate role.

I've since passed and now have the opportunity to apply for a graduate role in one of their service lines. Here's my confusion; ultimately I want to go into investment banking and I applied to Deloitte as a way of keeping my options open if I didn't get any IB offers, so it would be great to have this as a backup if this autumn's recruiting season does not go well. Which service line should I apply to which may help me transition in the future? (I know breaking in from any industry is difficult).

Within consulting I have the option of applying for finance or operations. Within corporate finance, I can only apply to roles outside London (where I live), these consist of restructuring services, valuation group, corporate finance advisory or transaction services. I am put off by the fact I would have to pursue a graduate role with a HOPE to move back to London if I pursue corp finance.

I'd really appreciate some advice monkeys, thanks!

Deloitte has three types of consulting: Strategy, MC, and Services / Technology. Unless it's strategy, don't consider consulting. Your best bet is with the Corp Finance roles, but it's unlikely you'll be able to transfer to a BB from any of those. My advice is to delay your decision as long as possible since you really don't want to start your career at a big 4 firm
