JP Morgan Full-Time Second Round / Superday?
Did anybody get call back for second round or super day for JP Morgan?
This would be past the Hirevue interview and/or phone screen if you had it

I'm assuming this was for the FT2017 tech analyst position in SF? I received a rejection email about 2 and half weeks after my hirevue.
Did you get asked to fill up a tax credit form before receiving the email? I got an email a little over a week ago to submit the form since I was being considered for the role but haven't heard anything since lol
Tax credit form? - Do you identify as a minority? - if you don't mind me asking. I have never heard of someone filling out a tax credit form prior to employment.
JP Superday (Originally Posted: 02/09/2010)
So I just found out about a superday with JP this coming Friday (12th), with their commodities area in Houston. Was wondering what type of stuff would be good to know? Also I'm expecting a 1st round with Citi's Houston office sometime this week, was wondering what type of stuff would be good to know. Thanks in advance.
I had Citi (tech Palo Alto) last Friday. I got a ton of accounting/valuation technical's during the first round, and then randomly drilled about it during the superday. But it was fairly repetitive. If the "Why Citi?" question comes up, make sure to indirectly talk about how you want to work on global transactions, and why that's so important. The office was relatively dry, so I put the jokes on the back burner and kept a straight face for six hours. But I don't know if it's the same in Houston. Good luck man.
Just curious, what were your credentials? Because I got passed over on this position
The JP Commods one I'm talking about
about 500-700 got passed over
Westfald- This is for Citi's commodities trading group in Houston, not banking. That being said, any advice or was your interview with banking?
mlibrett- My credentials are pretty strong. If you've got a 3.0 GPA (from your profile) and are from Northeastern (from your profile) you are going to have a pretty hard time getting looks at commodity trading shops in Houston.
That being said, anyone have any input as to what type of stuff I need to know?
Superday went well. Did anyone else on here attend? If so, anyone heard back yet?
Not sure if you had your S&T interview yet, but my Citi S&T first round for NYC was pretty chill... but then again, I knew the interviewer from before; you do get asked a few technical questions though (stock pitch, your view of the economy, etc.). Hope it goes well!
Guenter,
Were you interviewing for the commodity rotational analyst position? If so, I interviewed as well except over the phone. I have not heard anything back yet. The guy told me it could be as long as 2 weeks. Do you live in Houston? Did you actually go in the office? Good luck brother.
sent you a PM
JPMorgan Second Round Advice (Originally Posted: 01/18/2011)
In a couple of days I have a 2nd round at JPM and just wanted to see if I could get some tips on how I should prepare and how it will be different from the 1st round. More technical or more fit oriented? I searched the topic and did not get definite answers. Also, I have read through and understand most of the typical guides, do I need to know more?
Thanks
If you've progressed through the first-round, chances are they see that you aren't socially inept, so less fit from here on out. Search this, discussed ad nauseum.
what program/position is this for?
For IBD? How was your first round?
My first round was entirely technical but I'm a nontarget and I guess they wanted to make sure I'm not an idiot. Second round was entirely walking through a transaction I worked on (did M&A internship).
It really depends on your interviewer and your background. I'm assuming that if I was target I would've gotten more fit but who knows-be prepared for both and good luck.
IBD summer analyst. My first round was probably half technical half fit/resume history. So any advice?
Be prepared for technical (accounting and finance) questions. Also for fit questions. You will be meeting with a lot of different interviewers, some of them (most likely the younger guys) might ask you technical stuff, while the older guys will probably ask fit questions and get a feel for whether or not you are a douchebag.
like makers mark, im also from a nontarget and my first round interview was highly technical, working through one large problem. they definitely wanted to make sure you knew something about the business before taking you in for a super day. makers mark-- how long between 1st round and notification of 2nd round? are there any other non-target jp people out there? how long before i should start to get nervous. im s&t by the way
As already pointed out, second round questions depend on your background and previous experience. Expect technical questions from the junior bankers and more personal fit focused interviews with the senior guys. Good luck.
ellie-I had two phone interviews before superday and heard back within 24 hours for both. PM me with any questions.
jpm superday tomorrow
Final Round w/ JPM tomm, what to expect? (Originally Posted: 02/10/2011)
hey guys,
So I made it to 2nd round (final) with JPM tomorrow, I am really excited, confident and happy about it yet also nervous a little. can you please provide any information regarding the flow and what type of questions are likely to be asked?
any personal experiences certainly helps, also what is the best strategy and way to position oneself to land that offer?
Thanks
Dude these are all the same-mine was two fit and two technical. If you can answer everything in the WSO guides well you'll be fine. Also be ready to talk current events. Good luck.
GS/MS/JP/CS/Citi/BARC/UBS/DB all their interviews are the same more or less, and will only vary by interviewer's mood.
