I submitted resumes online for 2 different positions at a regional bank.
I got an email back the next day that I would not be considered for the first position. (I didnt realize it was a second year analyst position...oops). But I haven't heard anything about the other position at all. Is this common? There is no way to check the status of my application or anything like that so I was curious as to how long it usually takes to get an answer or if its up to whatever divison you applied to.

Usually (almost always) never, but sometimes if you're lucky they update to say declined a year or so after you submit it without emailing you.
Seriously online applications are nearly useless. Get a contact to push it through
I received an email from MS that I was rejected for an operations internship four weeks into my FO internship at a better bank; I think four other people in my group got the same email. I also received a rejection from DB IBD literally while I was on the phone with DB HR making travel arrangements to go to their Superday. Online is a black hole, if you never hear back, don't worry about it.
Time since submission divided by 0 should give you the exact moment they'll call
