Indochino for shirts/ties?

I've heard good things about Indochino's suits but how about their shirts/ties? I have trouble finding a good fit in retail stores and I just prefer buying stuff online rather than spending hours browsing a store.

bearingGet you measurements professionally done by a tailor so they don't screw up your shirt.
Do they charge for this? Or is it a free service?

bearingThey charge but it's only like 5-10 dollars. I would do it so you won't have to return your order because it's mismatched from poor measurement.

I thought you have to use Indochino's measuring system because their measurements do not match other stores.

The videos they have on the website when you first sign up for the account are pretty helpful if you want to save the price of a Big Mac Meal. Just grab a measuring tape and a friend.

Other than that, their quality/durability is above average but nothing to die for. Due to the customization, the fit is obviously a result of your measurement and sense of fashion. Customer service is helpful and responsive.

Got a shirt and tie the same time I got a suit done. Like the shirt and tie, suit was made for a man half my size and I definitely pay attention to fit in suits, thing hugged me like spandex.

What would you recommend doing when measuring? Add an inch or two to each measurement?

Everyone has a different build and fit. I'd call them and tell them how you'd like it to fit and they can tell you how you'll need to measure.

I have stayed away from Indochino based on some bad reviews I have heard - suit jacket isn't cut long enough, the fit it too fashion oriented and not business oriented, faddish, etc. I understand that they are relatively cheap, but there is nothing like a good (ie real) custom tailor. You step in, tell them exactly what you are looking for, and they will make everything exactly as you want it and the entire experience is better than anything else. There are custom shops in the US where you can get a decent deal, but if you travel often to Asia, you can get suits for as cheap as Indochino with a better cut, quality, and service. I have even heard that some of the Hong Kong tailors travel to places in the US (Boston, NYC, Chicago) 1-2 times a year.

Anyway, you know your custom tailor is good when they won't let you leave the store with a suit that isn't perfect - even if it takes coming back another time so the sleeves are just the right length, the shoulders don't bunch at all, etc.

FYI: Another gilt city deal going on right now, $339 for suit/shirt/tie combo.

Just bought and going to be getting an essential navy. Stoked.
