Offer Help: JPM vs MS vs GS

I need your advice on how to go about these offers. The offers are not group specific, but I will have the opportunity to preference groups later on in the spring. The offers are all in IBD, and I understand that all three are great companies to work for, but I am struggling to choose between them. Thanks!

The three firms are all roughly in the same league for IBD overall (some would argue that GS is better overall). *

There's a decent chance you might be working for or with one of your interviewers. Did any firm stand out as having people you'd like to work with or not like to work with?

*:This is coming from a capital markets guy, so my opinion is to be taken with a grain of salt for IBD.

Even if you're working at GS, though, two years is a long time to spend in banking if you don't like the people you work with. (You will see them for the equivalent of four years of full time work over two years). If you hated the folks at GS, I still think it's better to go with MS or JPM. You've gotten admits at three of probably the five best firms for IBD, so there's still plenty of opportunities at MS or JPM if you're not sure you'll like it at Goldman.

harvardgrad11GS is leagues ahead of the others
That's true right now. My view is that in every industry, there's about five or six firms that are all relatively close to the top and one of them gets to look like it's "leagues ahead" for a few years, but all of the firms near the top have some pretty brilliant people and the dynamics can always change. The most important thing is that you work for one of the five or six best firms and enjoy your job (or at least hate it less than you would at the other banks).

Back in the '80s, Drexel-Burnham was the bank to work for. In the late '90s, in accounting, it was Arthur Anderson. "Prestigiousness" can change overnight; what matters most is that you're at a firm with brilliant people and you enjoy working with them. I can say that JPM, GS, and MS all have brilliant people, and when you get to a certain level, it gets hard to compare skill and expertise, so you can only talk about who's doing well at the very moment.
