Sales in AM
Hey I tried to search the forums but couldn't find a lot of information about sales positions in AM (institutional AM, not Private Banking).
Does anyone know about entry-level positions in this field? What program would you want to get into (not a research position)? Pay, lifestyle, progression? Is it a sales position that has a lot of turnover?
Thanks in advance
Don't know much about this, but I know of a few people went to JPM AM as institutional sales analysts ... they're obviously huge in the space so they run a more structured program where you can do a traditional route of SA -> FT Analyst 2-3 years -> Associate or Exit Opps (Lateral, Sales at HF, MBA, possibly ER, etc)
Thanks for the info. I am talking about institutional sales at a reputable place, such as a BB.
Does anyone know about the day-to-day job? Are you involved with executing trades like at a S&T desk? Or is you task essentially to bring in and retain clients?
Also, what about lifestyle? Are you working 70-80 hours similar to other positions at a HF/PE firm (this question is more in regards to a mid-career job)?
bump...anyone know more about lifestyle in institutional sales?
