Violence Towards Your Resume

Over the past few weeks, as recruiting season roles around, many of you monkeys are asking for some resume advice.

Yet, I've noticed many of the threads use specific catch phrases such as "murder my resume" or "destroy my resume".

Why the use of violent terms when talking about your resume? Anyone else notice this trend?

It's as if they've learned from all the other bitch-ass posters who took critique personally and overreacted, and are thus sacking up and inviting harsh evaluations.

It's weird, though. I just picture geeky Asian engineering and comp sci majors with strange fetishes asking for anal beads.

It's a psychological thing.

I'll just say "Murder my resume" so that when I get critiqued, I won't feel shitty as I sort of invited that sort of criticism.

Nothing wrong with that, just funny how its putting out an implied disclaimer, “WAIT I KNOW I KNOW. BEFORE U SAY ANYTHING I KNOW ITS BAD. Ok now what should I fix?"

Banking.

its because you get more responses when you put something like that instead of just one of the ubiquitous "review my resume, please"

i know that "brutally ass rape my resume" catches my attention more.
