No chances... What do you
No chances... What do you expect us to tell you?
You know you have some of the credentials, do you want us to pat you on the back and tell you how great you are?
Oh my, I am pretty bitchy, I am probably PMSing again.

Remember, you will always be a salesman, no matter how fancy your title is.

You had a 5.0 at MIT? You
You had a 5.0 at MIT? You were the valedictorian?
With those stats, good shot.
also, I am guessing if you had a 5.0 at MIT, you must've been at M/B/B, which means you talked about B-school day-in-and-day-out with your co-workers (that's what all the consultants did when I was interning), so you know you have a good shot. heck, i am guessing if you worked in top strat, you have more than a 'decent' idea of what it takes to get in. you should know dozens of alums who are at these places, maing our opinion, if not irrelevant, at least relatively worthless.
all of that makes your post suspect. but then again, i am skeptical in general.
What are my chances at a top
What are my chances at a top B-school?
I am a 1.0 sociology major at a small state school.
I have a DUI on my record and credit card delinquency
I work for a BB - I guess you could say it's a front office job, since I mop the front of the office everyday.
lol, is this post fo'
lol, is this post fo' serious? A paltry 5.0 I had a 17.5. You'll definilty get in, HBS may be exclusive but MIT=really good school, 5.0= insanly high GPA, PE=good for entrance. You're in
Reality hits you hard, bro...
no chance...but i hear
no chance...but i hear mcdonald's is hiring.
Hi guys, I was really just
Hi guys, I was really just curious whether I'm safe or whether I need to be concerned about cramming some extracurriculars into my free time.
Also, MIT doesn't have a valedictorian. In fact, honors aren't given either--everyone graduates with the same degree.
Hmmm
I went to a Student's Day at HBS a few months ago. You know what I found? Everyone who was in the school was humble, and when they told you about their experiences, they didn't brag about their hotshot grades or their perfect GMAT scores of the fact that they were a minority.
It was everyone I was with, the thousands of kids vying for future spots in those classrooms that were the jerks. I met a kid from MIT, obviously brilliant when it comes to the books, but when we spoke about ourselves in a group meet, all he could talk about was his internships and classes. If you believe those are the only places you learn and gain bragging rights from, check and make sure you don't have bolts somewhere inside you.
They talked about working for their family's business, volunteering despite working sick hours on Wall Street, and the challenges of going to school and raising a family.
I suppose the hot shots will always have an edge going in. But God forbid you shoot for one of the best academic institutions in the world, and realize you have no personality, nothing unique, but are in fact, a grade mongering robot who can execute and deliver: until further progress requires you to have some heart to go along with your head.
