So now that we have a format that works and filter that works (even for international zip codes), I thought I would give everyone an update of where we stand. Here are the current #s as of December 2, 2011 in terms of the types of content people have added.

Total Companies in Database: 557...no, check that - NOW 826 as of Dec 10!
Now we need more help adding Company Reviews, Interview Insights and Compensation Datapoints. Please just take 30 seconds and add 1...it will really help us get the database to the next stage.
We will continue to aggressively add Companies to the database (even the ones with hundreds of satellite locations - thanks to the interns) so that at the very least it can be a place to find firms in your area. BUT we think this database can be much more.
We need you help to get more Company Review, Interview Insight and Compensation Data listed. Some of you have been amazing in helping out (thank you!)...if you go to the main WSO Company Database page, you can see all the Recent Additions to the database, so every day, we hope to see between 10-20 new data point added. After a year, that gets us up to ~4-5,000 points of information.
Each one takes between 30 seconds and 2 minutes. AND you get 30 bananas...plus, if you help us by adding 3 data points (can be any combination company, interview insight, compensation data or a company review) we will give you a free week access to our job board that has been filling up with some great opportunities lately. //www.wallstreetoasis.com/jobs

Site is pretty confusing for new chimps from what I can see....
new change coming tonight....now database information will start showing up in the Recent tab (without author info = anonymous), so you can see as more companies, Interview Insights, Company Reviews and Compensation Data is added.

Also, you may be getting a PM from one of interns ine coming weeks because you have shown knowledge about a particular company...it is just a request to help us fill out the database.
We really appreciate all of your help so far. We should be hitting 1,000 companies near the New Year.

I think you guys will really like the new changes....we will also be integrating our Search Results into each company page.
In other words, we will have a tab called Related Content that does the search for you....you just have to click the tab :-)

You may want to ask your intern to run a search for a company prior to adding it to the database. For example: Last week I added Shields & Company. Today, someone added Shields and Company. A simple search for "Shields" would have shown that the company already existed.
I would appear as though the button to add a company is gone. Am I missing something? I can add reviews, compensation data, and an interview, but I can't add an actual company.
