Discussion Area Widening
I've seen this for a while and it's a lil bothersome. When someone posts something like a wide image or wide video or long link, the discussion area with posts/text becomes wider but ends up getting cut off because the column at the right with forum topics/events/etc stays fixed in place. Might not be a terrible idea to get that fixed up.
Take the thread below for starters. About a third of it is unreadable.

The front page looks horendous right now. You can't see like a quarter of each post on the front page. I doubt that is an issue for any other popular forum based site. If a new user were to visit the site right now and saw the front page as it is now, they'd probably find it amateurish and unprofessional and walk away.
Also it looks like this Site Suggestions forum is mostly inactive / defunct. That's unfortunate.
Yeah they seem to have an issue with the fixed width for that element. Its quite annoying. Theres a lot of nitpicky aesthetically flawed things on the site though, no hate...
Recent jobs has bullet points and then the jobs are below the bullet points for example.
The current "Search upgrade in progress" status overlaps the thread trail "Wall Street Oasis » Forums » Site Suggestions" so you can't read either.
It is all compatibility issues though, all works on IE 7, but IE 8 has the mentioned flaws.
That's very unfortunate that you need to use an older browser to get WSO to look like a readable website. I just checked on Firefox and it looks fine there, but Chrome is also messed up. So certain browsers work, certain ones don't. Again, also unfortunate. There are many people who are Chrome users, as it's a popular browser and my personal favorite. To be fair, I haven't checked various older versions of Chrome.
Thanks guys - we're on it...upgrding search today so that has taken some time and we sent over some other minor changes, but we will look into these next week for sure.
