Messaged a HF manager via Bloomberg

So...I logged onto a Bloomberg terminal at school (senior) and decided to msg a HF manager (whom I'd kill to work for and learn from) on IB chat as he was online. Wrote a simple msg saying who I am, what I'm interested in, why I'm reaching out to him specifically (i.e. like his investment style, track record, etc.), and asked him if there were any internship/junior analyst opportunities at his firm. After accepting my chat request half an hour later, he simply replied by saying "hds" - no idea what that means...any guesses? I replied by saying "help desk support? I'll take it!" then sent him my resume, no reply.

Rather than wondering about whether this is actually going to turn into something, I'm more curious about "hds"...anyone have any thoughts on what that means?

Bold move, but to be honest PMs get tons of messages from brokers, traders etc. on Bloomberg. So the chance of getting noticed is small and you could potentially piss them off for wasting their time.

HDS Go: "How do I block other users in Bloomberg messaging?"

"For all the tribulations in our lives, for all the troubles that remain in the world, the decline of violence is an accomplishment we can savor, and an impetus to cherish the forces of civilization and enlightenment that made it possible."
