Best modeling music?
I know a majority of juniors like more house or pregame music, but personally I like C418… thoughts?

Stan Christ - trepidation, if possible on a speaker so that everyone enjoy the melody in the office
Unironically there’s a playlist on Spotify called “Financial Modeling - Investment Banking” by the user “capexpenditure” which I really enjoy for this purpose.
Underrated gem of a playlist
For me, it’s “Vampire GF does your makeup before prom ASMR”
Sometimes DnB
Sometimes lofi hip hop music to relax/study to
Sometimes white noise
No lyrics.
None. I concentrate on the work for modeling. I only do music if I'm doing something pretty simple in the model.
Exclusively techno. Recently I Hate Models and Klangkuenstler
Check out Vladimir Dubyshkin and FJAAK
Sweet, really enjoyed both of those.
World of Monnom Black compilation albums are great too
Aphex Twin, Boards of Canada for more mentally taxing things. I can’t do songs with lyrics if I need more than 20% concentration. Otherwise stuff like The Avalanches, DJ Shadow for turning comments on models, and if doing other stuff I just hit shuffle and see where my music takes me.
Right on with both, I only just discovered Aphex Twin but in general I find ambient works to be the best
For me it has to be Sexy Red - but I’m different
Investment banking playlist on Spotify by Zaahid Khan is underrated. The playlist is 14 hours long, haven’t worked in IB until you’ve listened to the entire playlist in one shift…
Give this a try and you will jam out your model

Alive 2007 - Daft Punk was a favorite as an analyst.
The best music for productivity in my opinion does not have lyrics (or is in a foreign language) and does not require you to check your phone to change songs or skip to a better song. What works best for me is to use YouTube Premium or VancedMusic and create a playlist of DJ sets. These are usually better curated than algorithmic Spotify/Apple playlists and have better flow than user constructed ones. For example, Ostgut Ton (the label for Berghain) has a whole series of DJ sets on YouTube; one of my favorites is with Ben Klock.
I have also used the app Endel (AI generated electronic music) to limited success. Also, movie soundtracks and glitch/ambient music (e.g., almost anything Ryuichi Sakamoto or Brian Eno have done) are good for more ‘thoughtful’ type work like reading docs.
Also Yeezus is just about 45 minutes long and is the perfect album to bang out something furiously quickly
Sematary’s Rainbow Bridge 3.
Mac Miller Swimming
Downtempo
hernan canteno, house/trance DJ
That genre of music from “Harry Potter by Balenciaga” is great modeling music.
