Loop Capital Markets Internship
Hello everyone. I have noticed that there were a few people in the past who asked about Loop Capital Markets, however no one really answered any questions regarding that company.
So, I thought that I would ask again: What can you guys tell me about Loop Capital Markets internship program?
I have an interview with them next week, and although the position seems really interesting (macro analysis) I was hoping to learn if for example the possition is intelectually challanging, how much should I expect to get paid (it's not that important but it's nice to know), how challenging is gaining full time employment after completing the internship etc.
Thank you in advance.
Did you ever accept this internship? Where did you interview? I sent my resume to them last week for a summer position.
" possition is intelectually challanging" if you spell like this the position won't be yours.
I got an offer from them and I would really appreciate anyone's input.

Has any of the monkeys done their internship? I am still waiting for the details of the offer but I would appreciate if you could share how you enjoyed it and how is Loop Capital regarded. I've heard they are solid in Public Finance Investment Banking. How about M&A and capital raising? I would appreciate any input.
Why are you bumping super old threads? Stop it.
Looks like mostly pub fin and bandwagon large public placements (i.e. never the lead).
I guess as a non-minority I was surprised I got it. If anyone knows anything about them I would appreciate any info!

Doubt you will get solid modeling or M&A experience, but try and learn as much as you can. If you try and lateral, likely to end up in ECM or DCM type role.
What are ECM and DCM roles?

Congrats. PM me if you have any question. Interned there last summer with their P3 practice.
Thanks for contributing guys. I will have a really hard choice to make now.

Have any monkey interned at that place and what was your experience like? If I pick them I will take a slightly lower compensation. Should I take them over a small regional boutique?
Haven't you said in earlier posts you had a SA gig in NYC at a boutique?
Another thread about this firm...
I did and I got another offer and I am reconsidering my choices now. I am hoping that somebody who works there or did an internship there follows WSO and will answer my question.
So now its Loop CM in Chicago vs. AW in MN?
BTW, didn't you get a GH&F offer?
I have an offer from AW and I did get an offer from GH&F but is unpaid so I said no to them. I have 2 offers for smaller boutiques in NYC as well. On top of that I have an offer from Big 4 company for TP in Minneapolis which is the best compensation wise. Now I am trying to figure out what should I pick and which city would be best for my career.
I don't have any experiences at Loop but I know that they dominate a niche position within Public Finance. This gives the firm credibility, within Pub Fin, and stability, year over year. That being said I would use the following framework to decide:
Loop, for example, is not going to get you into KKR or TPG. I would assume that lifestyle and people are better than Corporate IB (This was the case when I summered in BB Pub Fin). I purposefully left out compensation in the framework because I am sure Monkeys would sacrifice 10k to work with people that they like. PM me if you have any questions.
Thanks for the input MJQ. I really appreciate it!
If this is for SA, you made a mistake by not going with GH&F IMO. Don't even bother with AW, but Loop isn't strong in M&A. TP has nothing to do with IB.
Might as well take Loop and hope for the best. Worst case, Chicago is great in the summer. If you want recs on where to live, just ask.
I did not take GH&F because I am not going to work for free. I can't afford that. I think Loop Capital might be my best option.
It's either that or AW. Clearly Loop is the best option, particularly if it is in Chicago. Just make sure you spend time refining the modeling skills.
omg Beny23 you just cant call people that work there monkeys
The think that pushes me more towards Loop Capital is structured training for the first week out of 10. Plus being in Chicago I will be able to enjoy life more.

What can you guys tell me about Loop Capital Markets and their interview process? I have a phone interview with them for a summer internship. Seems to me like a great place to get some experience, especially since Im from a non-target with only a decent GPA. Thanks everyone
It's for a summer internship position as well...would you like to exchange emails so we can talk privately?
Thanks,
Bump. 4 years later, but I'd be very interested to gain any insight into Loop
