Have you seen this interview of Icahn? He's an ass. For the record, he was long on the stock.
Soros and Buffett
Jim Simons & Henry Kravis
No one. They're all assholes. Including me. I also seriously question the conscience of my colleagues sometimes.
Ken Moelis and David Einhorn
I like Icahn.. a lot. I may be infatuated. I even respect him for who he (unabashedly) is. But I couldn't actually look up to him as a role model.
I guess it depends on the parameters (living or not, profession, etc). Assuming we're talking about high finance professionals, the first that come to mind...
Sidney Weinberg Joe Perella Michael Burry Steve Mandel
Julian Robertson, Max Heine, Charlie Munger
Jamie Diamon,Einhorn, and Ackman.
Michael Burry
Taleb by a very very wide margin if you count him as wallstreet.
Otherwise Soros
blumie
Lloyd Blankfein. A true rags to riches American dream story, and now runs the most powerful & successful bank on the Street
Lloyd "El Duende" Blankfein Cary Cohn aka Todd Packer James "Jimmy Dean" Dimon and of course his daddy, Sanford "Sandy" Weill Steven Schwarzman Larry Fink (or Jim Chanos, sometimes it is hard to tell them apart) George Soros Carl Icahn Kenneth Feinberg Thomas Montag Michael Cavanagh aka Kenneth Parcell
David Shaw and Jim Simons. And Buffet - you have to respect how humble he is. Guy's also given a lot more to charity than anybody on Wall Street
Jim Chanos is a great one too, forgot to mention him. Other than their political affiliations I'm not sure what him and Larry Fink have in common as far as being investors go unless there's something I totally don't know about Fink... with the disclaimer I don't know him at all other than the very basic info everyone else would know.
^ They look alike. That's all I meant by that haha.
Soros. Buffett. Lynch. Einhorn.

I admired Henry Paulson's reputation and his conservative nature (AND his fucked up pinky finger), this is coming from a soon-to-be accountant still in school, so take it with a grain of salt. However, I think he is an idiot for subscribing to "Christian science" and relying on prayer to fix his ailments. It's only a matter of time before he gets a serious illness and finds out that god won't save him.
Icahn is a boss, beastly activist investor. Tepper for pulling in 3.5 bil for himself in 2013 and Buffett for the massive wealth he has accrued. Icahn is my favorite though

Lol
Dalio. I've always liked his investing ideology.
