[F]irst time posting. I'm shy. Be nice...

So, here's my resume.

There are two points under experience that I am going to fill out after this summer. Don't worry about that.

One of my questions now is where should I put my test scores? I originally had them bulleted in my undergrad, but moved them to the bottom because it seemed a little out of place. But at the same time, I don't want them to get lost in the mess of interests/bottom of the page filler. My undergrad gpa was not good (3.1), so I'm trying to make up for that somehow. Do you think it would look bad in place of "Dean's List: 7 semesters?"

Also, any other critiques are more than welcome.

Thanks

Just at first glance, I might remove sports betting as an interest. We all do it, and we pretty much all love it, but it's one of those things that might be off-putting on a resume. It's a funny double standard but something like competitive poker = this guy might know his shit while sports betting = this guy might be a degenerate.

Just my two cents.

you're pretty awesome with the standardised tests. Were you like sleeping in school or something? How did you into the dean's list 7 times out of 8 times and get a low GPA, how does that work?

You're right, this does look fishy. I counted the years and it looks like this person did 5 years ug. Depending on the school, Dean's list can mean 3.5+-3.8+. Seems like this person bombed the last 2 years; perhaps a red flag.

But hopefully the current good grades and good work experience should overcome all of this. Good luck.

I did do 5 years of UG. I changed my major a few times. Mechanical -> Aerospace -> CS -> Math. This pushed me back a year.

Also, my school had a pretty tough grading scale compared to most. Dean's List was only a 3.0. Not to say everyone got it. My GPA was about average, if not slightly above average. I understand, however, that outside of my university, it seems shockingly low. I could try and explain this in every interview, but I'd rather leave it off my resume than risk not even getting an interview.

I understand how sports betting might come off as more of a gambling problem. But that's what my undergraduate research was on: finding a model to predict game spreads. We're in the middle of a paper now, so hopefully I'll be able to reference that too.

Thanks a lot for the pointers

My school (yep, engineering) generally curved most classes down to a C+/B-. We also had special awards for people that maintained 3.0+ GPAs.

I know that feel. It's absolutely disheartening when it comes to business school (or any other type of grad/prof school) admissions.
