Resume Review - Investment Banking Analyst

Updated IB Resume, trying to obtain an analyst position in investment banking. Feel free to be harsh, let me know what you think. Thanks, in advance!

Edit: Touched it up, new form attached.

Way too much empty space. Quantify and specify bullets from your internship: should go action-quantified result for every bullet. As a fellow athlete, I would ding your res for sounding like a twat in your Hockey section - you sound like you are saying that you are solely responsible for your team's improved outcome.

Some super quick comments:

  1. The white on black headers are distracting.
  2. Use the word "financial" twice in the 1st bullet
  3. Not a fan of the "report to" unless you are going to provide a generic job description and then more specific sub bullets outlining responsibilities
  4. You use the word "models" in your first 2 bullets
  5. "Reformat" is an impossibly weak verb to open a bullet
  6. More generally, your bullets for your current role don't paint a very specific picture of what it is you do on a regular basis. Your last two bullets are not very banking-oriented, if that makes any sense. You need to show how the skills in your current job would translate well into an analyst role rather than just list what you have done.
  7. "Co-founded"
  8. Your investment fund bullets don't seem to flow - I think you need to make some of them sub bullets. Also, change up the wording a bit so it doesn't look and sound so robotic. You basically state the same thing twice, just for different companies.
  9. Generally, no GPA is a red flag. Depends on how shitty it is, but I could accept a lower GPA if you had substantial time commitments for athletics.
  10. CFA Level 1 Candidate - get rid of that or just state that you are preparing for the exam
  11. Not sure if you did this on the actual resume, but no need to put "US" in the locations

Wow, thanks a lot for the advice! It really is appreciated... @"WallStreetOasis.com" by the looks of the feedback and my complete lack of experience crafting a resume for IBD, I feel like the resume review service would be more beneficial to me than I thought. Do you think I have a decent enough amount of experience to have you guys put together a resume that would at least get some looks? Shoot me a PM if you have some time to discuss this. BTW, my grade point average was only a 3.12 which is why I left it off. Should I just include it, anyway? Thanks, again people!

My assumption is sub-3.0 if I don't see anything listed. Others may disagree.

Thanks, Duff. You are providing a lot of great insight with absolutely no obligation to do so. I really hope my hard work pays off and can do the same for others some day. In regards to the 3.12, I get rattled about it because I feel like (even with an NCAA sport) I won't even get a look. I'll definitely throw it on there, though if perception is worsened when it's absent. Thanks, again.
