BofA Finance Internship

I'm an undergrad at the shitiest school on Earth, in the southeast region. If you can guess congratulations. I might have an opportunity to intern at BofA in the Finance group...not IBD. I have some good non-relevant work experience at f500 and an part-time IB intern at a no name boutique.

Will this BofA internship do good or bad if I wanted to get into IBD or advisory? Should I go for it or should I stay at no name boutique? My goals after graduation are IBD, management consulting (corporate finance), M&A advisory, big 4 tas, PE/VC(lol). Anything where I can get good deal experience for a long-term career in PE.

Will I be able to leverage to BAML by networking during the summer? My school is so shitty that there is no alumni in IB or consulting.

Here is the job description...

• Analysis and reporting of on-going operations • Forecasting financial and non-financial trends • Developing models and performing financial analysis of business investments • Supporting the corporation's internal planning and management accounting functions • Preparing external reports for shareholders and regulatory authorities • Providing guidance on accounting policy issues and/or taxation issues

Thanks

...with that attitude about your own school I doubt you will be able to sell your "story" for any position outside of retail sales. Regardless of what school you are attending at least have some pride. The way you describe your own school makes me wonder about the type of education that you are getting as it sounds like anyone and their redneck mother can enroll.

From the sound of it this internship is a god-send for your institution. Take it and never look back. Maybe they will even write an article about you achieving such glory.

On a nicer note: use the search function on how to break in from non-targets. Attitude plays a huge part.
