Strong deal flow despite of short history. Focusing on TMT. ex-UBS TMT guys. Never talked with insiders, so cannot give you insights about their culture.
these guys kill it in terms of dealflow, but not sure how an analyst experience is. i don't think they've ever hire more than a couple guys a year (in their short history).
Great firm, but I hear they work you incredibly hard.
Yeah LionTree, founded by former UBS TMT guys, is really doing well in the media advisory space. Bourkoff really knows what he's doing over there. They'll be around for a long time, great place to start imho.

Bump
Advising on charter/twc right now. good time for this thread to come back alive.
Are they on the left on any of these big deals they're doing? Or just support roles?
.
Surprises me these guys don't egenrate more discussions on here - seem to be developing into a strong platform.
Bourkoff and Liontree LLC (Originally Posted: 07/03/2012)
Hi fellow monkeys,
This is my post, though I am a frequent reader. I was curious what some of your opinions were on the recently formed Liontree LLC boutique investment bank created by former-UBS rainmaker Aryeh Bourkoff specializing in media and tech. There is basically no information on this boutique available yet as WSJ just reported its creation yesterday, but I was wondering if maybe some of you with access to CapitalIQ or Bloomberg had further info, or just what your opinions on the firms' future were? When do you think they will start hiring analysts/interns? As an incoming senior at a target ivy currently interning in a MM global markets-type role, I was wondering what my chances were to get into this firm on the ground floor, and if you think it would have Moelis-like potential for exit ops and deal exposure. I am most interested in attempting to get an internship for 3 months during this winter in ibanking and was wondering when this firm might start hiring for that sort of thing and when it would be good for me to start trying to get in contact.
Phew. Sorry for the long-winded post. I think this firm has a lot of potential and I'm curious what others opinions on its future are. Any related knowledge would be appreciated.
bump, they were just on the $6.6bn buyout of Suddenlink Communications
interested in this as well, would appreciate any info
bumpity bump. can somebody with information on them please tell me how i can get in touch about working for them. pm me or something please? please??
Wow, they just got in on the Virgin - Liberty Media deal. Why isnt there any information out on this firm? Not even an official website?
There was a nice article on bloomberg yesterday about the fact that they made the ranking thanks to that deal... How many people are working there? 10? For $10-20mln in fee just for their last transaction?
I realize this is an old post - trying to get some love and attention from anyone who has new info.
I noticed they hired a couple UBS MDs recently from the tech group that was cut last year...
Currently advising Charter: http://dealbook.nytimes.com/2014/01/14/big-fees-for-advisers-if-charter-wins-over-time-warner-cable/
I know an intern who works there, seems to be part of the first intern class

IB started by Bourkoff and Stenzler less than a year ago. Does anyone have any intel on how big their groups are (both advisory side and investment side)?
Also, any ideas on pay, culture, exit opps (probably too early to tell), and dealflow?
Thanks.
I was actually stalking this company on linkedin, and they appear to have 5 analysts or so, and most appear to be laterals.
Just gonna drop this here:

^Yup, a lot of press coverage regarding some of their deals. It seems like their reputation is pretty solid from what I could gather.

Anyone have any recent info on Liontree Advisors in terms of interview process, culture, compensation, exit opps, etc. These guys havent been covered much on here other than comments on strong deal flow and have very little internet presence elsewhere.

Great people/culture, big focus on personable hires. Compensation is above average (though I guess it depends on deal flow specific to the year). Hours are bad but not worse than any other quality IB job. Ramping up investing arm, so interesting/diverse work. Exit opps unestablished -biggest risk, but likely to be good (if TMT focused) -- firm has good rep within the space. Not sure how PE exit opps will look other than TMT PE

Spoke with someone at the LionTree recently and was told they have about 80 employees. Sounds like a solid firm in the TMT space, for a young firm they have really established themselves.
Anyone have more recent info on them? How does their comp compare to street? Exit opps?
^^^^How are they interms of hours.... there was a scary article about them in the past?
Base is street, bonus is above street in line with other EBs. My roommate works there...
Has he been there a while?
Have heard interesting stuff about them... any new data anyone can contribute?
Heard the culture is a shit show
Anyone here recruit for SF/hear back from supers yet?
