Top Finance Blogs (IBD / PE)
Hello monkeys,
Let's compile a list of the best / most amusing finance blogs, specifically those relevant to IBD / PE (less public markets-oriented).
Here's what I got so far:
- Epicurean Dealmaker (RIP)
- dealbreaker
- theibanker
What am I missing? What do you like to read?
Term Sheet by Erin Griffith
I would also recommend Pro Rata by Dan Primack, the guy who used to do the term sheet before Erin Griffith.
Nice, I will check it out!
Term sheet is awesome and I also like Matt Levine
Good call - Matt Levine does good work
Wall Street play boys used to be great. Still good to read their old posts.
Salute to you my dude. Epicurean looks great.
Here's my contribution: https://whitecollarfraud.blogspot.co.uk/
Might not be helpful but it's something
This is dope. +SB
Just doing my job
Not IB, but I love Going Concern, especially around bonus time when the accountants all complain and tell their horror stories in the comments section.
Favorite Financial Blogs/Sites (Originally Posted: 05/31/2012)
Looking for some new finance blogs/sites to frequent. For a while now, it seems like I spend most of my time over at ZeroHedge. If you don't mind a little apocalyptical bent, ZH is the best I've found. I look at all the mainstream sites, but there's rarely anything interesting on there. Any suggestions?
motleyfool.com or jimcramer.com
can't go wrong with that
Dealbreaker WSJ Deal Journal blog WSJ's other blogs The Reformed Broker Dealbook (occasionally)
yahoo finance
Seeking Alpha does a good job on give me a quite a few articles on energy companies every day. Except one day I'll read an article that company XYZ's earnings might decline 10% next year. The next day a different contributor will write an article saying the exact opposite.
how can we make WSO better so that you'd want to hang around more?
I've actually been spending a ton of time here, as of late. This site is extremely useful with info about interviews, internships, FT jobs, networking, exit opps etc. etc.
The only thing I feel like this site is missing is substantive posts/articles about finance/econ/investing news or ideas. This is the best site for getting info on what it takes to break into banking/finance, but not so much for acquiring financial news. There are some posts focusing on this. The only problem I have is not knowing if the author of these posts are worth listening to. How do I know if the author is a legitimate authority on investing etc. or just a college kid spouting off? With a site like ZeroHedge, I am confident that the authors of articles know their stuff and I can trust the content.
Maybe there is a way to create a section with featured/official bloggers or something.
