Recruiters for Chicago Area?

Does anyone know any recruiters (PE, HF, Asset Management, IB, or Corp Development) that have clients in the Chicago area, or have a focus on Chicago recruiting?

Casting a wide net out there in terms of job opportunities as location is the focus here. Have talked to Venautics and Dynamics, but was wondering if anyone know any of the other HHs.

Thanks for your help!

If you're looking to break into PE, from my experience, Chicago is pretty well self-networked (ie the PEAC - Private Equity Associates of Chicago), each year they put together a resume book for the formal recruiting process. This year the book's resume deadline was February 25th and was organized by a guy a CIVC and Flexpoint Ford. You might want to reach out there and see what you can come up with.

You are too late to submit your resume for the PEAC Resume Book. That being said, they are hosting their recruiting forum in the next few weeks (April 1st I believe). You should reach out to them to get more details, but if you bring your resume I assume there will be plenty of firms there who you can talk to.

How do you know that you're not getting the best experience? The fact is that most first jobs aren't fun. The second job gets a bit more interesting.

After 12-18 months at your first job, talk to Robert Khoury at WWFIRS.com. I met him when he was working at GETCO; he's a pretty smart guy and he's aware of a lot of finance-related opportunities in Chicago, although I think his specialty is more on the trading than IBD side.

I would say I'm not getting the best experience because there's barely any deal flow at my firm. It's just pitch after pitch and then there's no modeling experience. I feel like i don't get credit when working on anything. I'd really like to get some M&A exposure but that just is not possible. I've been to a few lateral interviews and always get the feeling that my experience is worse than any other candidate there.

I will definitely look into that, especially since I really would like to make the transition to trading too. Thanks for your help

I am a finance graduate with 2 years experience in business development in a high-tech environmental company. I am looking for opportunity to shift my career to finance industry. Any suggestions or advice about how to proceed? Thanks a lot and really appreciate your opinion.
