HELP.......Should I transfer??? - Rising junior

Hi,

I am a rising Junior at Elon University in North Carolina who is pursuing a Double major in Finance and Management with a concentration in Entrepreneurship. I am completing an investment banking internship at a major investment bank this summer and would eventually like to end up working in private equity down the line. Now to my question:

I have the ability to transfer to Bucknell University but am wondering what some industry professionals think would provide me with a better background/is more prestigious in IB/VC/PE circles.

Thanks for your help

If you were going to transfer to a school significantly better than your current school it would be worth it, but transfering to Bucknell from Elon is like transfering from a McDonalds to a Burger King. If you have already landed a SA with a BB at your current school then you are fine where you are.

UBS is solid. Congrats on the internship. Just knock it out the park and you'll be fine. You've already networked your way in (assuming this is banking and not PWM), which is impressive considering your non-target school status.

Oh, dipset, your a fag. People for non-targets get jobs at BB all the time, we just work three times as hard as you and will eventually be your MD.

Dude leave Dip Dipset alone! jk he's a total fag and I'm not quite sure why he is making fun of non-targets working at BBs when he works at a 35person firm.

"BUT I get real deal experience" blah blah Dipset don't to rationalize your underachieving.

Don't worry about transferring. As the other guys pointed out, the difference isn't worth the hassle. Just do your best with your summer spot and keep your GPA up. Once your foot is in the door you have a leg up on the competition, even if they come from a "better" school. Just work hard over the summer, see if there is something relevant to do during the school year (internship wise) and make sure your extracurriculars are up to par. Good luck.

Regards
