I-Banking/Research Summer Analyst resume; low GPA

http://www.razume.com/documents/17961

I just put this together really fast. My GPA is my biggest worry: I have a 2.9 cumulative average, so I used my Econ GPA which is a 3.3 (I know that's not the great either). I had a really bad semester (family issues) that screwed my GPA over. I just started my Econ major in earnest; my earlier grades were mostly math, so I'm hoping to pull my GPA up really fast, but it won't be anytime soon. Do you guys know of any other way to focus on the other things on my resume that I think show that I'm not really as dumb as my GPA shows me to be? Thanks a lot!

I'm confident I can show them I'm smart enough if I'm interviewed, but that's the catch. I'm worried I won't even be asked to an interview. Any suggestions? Thanks Busey, I'm glad to hear there was someone else out there who had a similar situation.

It depends. Are you at a target? Sophomore/Junior? It doesn't matter, you're going to have to network your nuts off. I cold called, applied to places no one has ever heard of, talked to anyone who would listen. There's plenty of success stories involving stats like ours, many of them on this board, it's definitely not impossible.

Your resume is solid to me, I don't know much about what looks good and what doesn't look good, though so hopefully you'll get some constructive comments.

I'm a junior at a semi-target (top 20). I've tried a few cold-calls, pulling the family/friend connections, etc. I've had no luck yet. Do you think my "experiences" section is valid stuff for IBD or Research SA positions? I've been thinking about taking the GMAT and plugging the score onto my resume. I know I can get 700+. Would that add value?
