IB Resume Critique - Current junior
I need people to really critique my current resume and tell me what I should add or fix.
Currently I'm a junior and will be looking for a related Investment Banking intern this coming year and summer. My experience is limited but my GPA is decent. I want to secure an entry level intern so I can build my IB experience!
I need to know what I should add so it looks more like an investment banking resume.
ANY ADVICE IS GOOD!
i would auto ding you for the sentence about references on the bottom
Reread first bullet under Fundraiser
You also use the $ symbol in some places and the word dollars in others. You need to proofread this yourself, I know you can pick out the mistakes you've made.
I don't really understand the line about developed financial models for 4 mm budget. Also, you have a lot of white space.
Please remove the sentence about references at the bottom.
Do any banks recruit at Penn State for front office?
You actually have a shot.
Just realize that summer recruiting does not start until January!
Is calculus actually relevant coursework? Should I include my advanced math in my relevant coursework section?
You would get absolutely chewed up during an interview. Half of this resume I have read and thought to myself is he joking?
Lets face it, you did nothing that significantly helped the board of directors as an intern...
How did you analyze assets to determine which would be depreciated. No shot you did this. That would be an accounting role and even so I'm positive you did not do this.
Honestly, not trying to be a dick here but you need to realize your stretching the truth...The minute you get into an interview analysts and associates will have a field day with you...
On a positive note, you have a decent school and gpa if you network hard. Everyone starts somewhere just keep going and getting advice.
I'd say first thing first is you revise your own resume and reread 10 times...Look at it every few hours. I am positive you will find tons of errors.
Here is a few things…Last line is ridicules, I’d say no sub bullet points, you are not exceptional in Excel, no period at the bottom, is state college at top necessary?

What I like to do for proofreading my resume is print it out and go through it with a pen, marking mistakes/sections that aren't visually apealling/ etc.
At least personally, it is hard for me to always catch the visual mistakes on my resume when I'm looking at it in Word, but those mistakes stick out like a sore thumb on paper.
Don't buy a line with "microsoft excel", just put excel
Remove reference pls. I don't care that you have friends, because I have none. "Look at me, I'm miserable. That's why I'm rich." - A.Gold
