I am currently an undergrad top UC freshman, and I was wondering about taking hedge fund internships in freshman and sophomore year and recruiting for investment banking in junior year. I would ideally like to intern in some sort of investment management capacity freshman year(slim pickings, but understandable), and leverage that into a more legitimate fund ($250M+ in AUM) sophomore year because I genuinely like the work compared to that of boutique investment banking or whatever else I would get. However, I am wondering if this puts me at a disadvantage for junior year summer analyst positions because of the lack of relevant experience, as I am still most heavily considering the structured 2-year analyst stint to HF. Also how good would the experience at the funds look as compared to other internships I could get?

Thanks in advance
