Is their Tepper undergrad school considered a target for IB? Not sure what target exactly constitutes. Thanks!

A target is a school where
A target is a school where certain employers (such as investment banks and consulting companies) regularly come to interview students on campus via OCR (On Campus Recruiting). Carnegie Mellon is a great school ... but most of the top ibanking/consulting companies don't recruit there heavily or at all. CMU hovers somewhere between semi-target and non target for top and mid-tier analyst programs.
I would argue that CMU is
I would argue that CMU is definitely a target, as early every BB recruits there consistently for both FT and Intern positions, unarguably a Target for Trading, as some of the best prop trading firms recruit ON CAMPUS there like Jane Street, Jump, Geneva etc. as well as Barclays and a few others, also as a sidenote, tepper is tied with penn for highest average starting salary undergrad, this is because of the financiers
Oh no, not another target
Oh no, not another target thread.
CMU is a semi target. Lets just say that. Not as easy to get into IB as say Duke, not as hard as say University of Florida. Well respected comp sci department, solid business school, amazing MSCF program. If you go to CMU you should be able to get interviews at BB's with a solid resume and some networking.

I am a proud CMU alum.
I am a proud CMU alum. Carnegie Mellon is much more of a target for Trading, not so much for IB.
I know people who I went to school with who got into IB at Lehman (now @ Nomura), UBS, Wachovia (now @ Wells Fargo), PNC, CIBC, and Citi. Are the numbers high? No. Maybe like 2-3 people at most at each firm. It's not like Morgan Stanley where I saw > 50% of the IB SA class from Wharton.
Goldman and Morgan do not hire IB from Carnegie Mellon. Goldman only hires for Ops and IT from CMU.
