Leaving your ties tied?

Normally, I tie my ties and store them in my closet already pre-tied so when I have to put them on, I just loosen and tighten the smaller end. Saves time and it looks good.

A lot of people I know tie and untie their ties every time they wear them. What's the point of this? I don't understand the benefit.

This is a great way to completely destroy your current collection of ties.

I keep mine tied. As far as ruining my ties, what other function would I ever need them in than the function that they're in now that would show their ruin?
Well, if you are my creepy, possibly-rapist uncle, you may want to drape over your shoulders without tying it.

Exactly, but in any other setting my tie is going to be the same exact way, its not like I'm going to untie it in front of people and they're going to stare in disgust about how wrinkled it is.

The material will start to come apart, wrinkles will become permanent, and it'll eventually look like shit (when around your neck).

You can usually tell when someone's ruined their tie by not untying it like a human being.

Chances are you're going to have to loosen them slightly to get them over your head, so if you leave the knot tied it's going to be a few inches down from where it is when it's tightened...

Do you not untie your shoes as opposed to squeezing your foot in?

Do you not unbuckle your belt as opposed to stepping into it?

Do you not unbutton your shit as opposed to fitting it over your head?

I do 2/3

If there is a liner and it creases because you left it tied the front will look bad too, especially when you sit.

Although I have ties of different lengths, and find it very annoying to remember how long to "set them up" as to get them to come down to my belt buckle.

Idiots... I've had ties tied for 30 years and never untied them. They are still fine and crisp. I deal with business professionals on a daily basis and get compliments on my ties constantly. Bunch of frogs stuck in your old ways.
