Obama: the anti-business president

Great article by Fareed Zakaria, which confirms what I've believed for a long time. Corporations and small businesses are afraid to hire and make investments because of Obama's massive tax hikes and increased regulations. At his core, Obama is anti-business and wants to undo the Reagan Revolution, which revived American private sector in the 1980's. His ultimate goal is to transform this country into a quasi-socialist welfare state, like the ones they have in Europe.

For those who love capitalism and individual freedom, we just have to hope that Obama leaves the White House on January 20, 2013.

Well now, let's see, the political atmosphere in Washington has threatened business with;

Higher hiring costs due to health care reform

Higher future taxes, reducing marginal product of labor

Higher costs of doing business from more regulations

And prolongs a recession by extending unemployment benefits and tinkering with other market mechanisms.

Funny enough, I was reading this article after my dad passed it along to me this morning.

It's no wonder this country is having such a difficult time truly pulling out of this recession. At the rate we are going we will have little recession babies running around.

On a serious note, this is stupid. I hate hearing about job gains this and that, blah blah blah. Shit isn't fixed and shit isn't going to be fixed unless Obama resigns the office of pompous, self adsorbed intellectual (not my choice of word for him) and becomes the President of the United States of America.

These companies are sitting on piles of cash because the current administration is incapable of logic and reason. Threatening well performing companies with greater cost, taxes and regulation if they make more money isn't a way to stimulate spending and growth.

If we could somehow get the politicians in DC to figure out this concept I understand in high school we might just turn things around. But alas, they are far to busy trying to tax your soda and tanning bed usage and put in place a national healthcare plan (that they will never be forced to use to) to take a break and read through a f'n Wikipedia page.

Can't wait until November.

"Most of the business leaders I spoke to had voted for Barack Obama. They still admire him. Those who had met him thought he was unusually smart. But all think he is, at his core, anti-business. When I asked for specifics, they pointed to the fact that Obama has no business executives in his Cabinet, that he rarely consults with CEOs (except for photo ops), that he has almost no private-sector experience, that he's made clear he thinks government and nonprofit work are superior to the private sector. It all added up to a profound sense of distrust."

These fools voted for him and still admire him. I could of told you he was anti business before he was elected. Such a shame, but I am glad more and more people are waking up to this. I don't think Obama realizes that companies are not monolithic evil creatures that destroy the common man, but entities owned by the very people he is "trying" to help. I am sure all the pension funds and individual investors just loved Obama strong arming BP and circumventing normal corporate law to establish his $20 Billion slush fund and having BP cut their dividend, one of the few things keeping the stock from dropping further.

The majority of Jews voted for Obama yet he is arguably the most anti Israeli president in recent history. Suck on that.

I guess this is what happens when we have a president elected by people who add no value to this country. Why should Obama try and support working individuals when his core voting group is on welfare. Just think if Obama could get rid of the law restricting prisoners from voting. He could be elected forever.

Very well said. Obama's coalition in 2008 consisted of blacks, jews, poor people, naive college students, and liberal whites suffering from racial guilt.

You forgot wealthy people. Wealthy households voted for Obama over McCain.

Make that rich people, blacks, Jews, poor people, native college students, and liberal whites (ps, Obama received the highest white vote from any other democrat in United States history). Democrat voters are amongst the richest and poorest in the country, no secret about that.

Sounds fabulous!

Read: "Why the wealthy voted for Obama"

http://blogs.wsj.com/wealth/2008/11/05/why-the-wealthy-voted-for-obama/

Isn't it ironic the wealth creators you little people trying are trying to fight for are...guess what..... OBAMA SUPPORTERS!? LOL.

The richest people in the United States voted for and I assume support Obama. Period.

The newly regulated finance moguls you little people are crying for....Obama voters. Tech moguls....Obama voters, and so on..

Nobody cares about "most Americans". Most Americans are overweight and uneducated. The only Americans who should be allowed to vote are the educated and upper-middle-class and wealthy (clearly Obama supporters, if you look at party affiliation of the richest Americans in the Country via Forbes)

Nobody cares what "Real Americans" in the Southern United States think. That poor, overweight and uneducated region shouldn't be allowed to vote.

HAHAH, agree.

I always like to say that the Devil could of run on the Democratic ticket and still won. People had so much hate for Bush that they were going to vote in a Dem no matter what.

You know what I find sad. I have never voted for someone because they were white or my religion or whatever. I love Colin Powell and would of voted for him over a white dem any day. Long story short, I vote for people because of their politics and experience and what I think they will do once they get in the White House. This past election we had too many people voting for Obama because of the color of his skin. Pretty pathetic and IMO very telling about certain groups of people.

If a white guy had the same stats as Obama he wouldn't of made it past the primaries. Friggin Hillary is more qualified that this guy. I mean holy shit, other than speaking well and talking about this mysterious "change" that is supposed to happen he is a complete rookie.

My favorite part of the election was Obama's camp making fun of McCain for not texting or whatever. Real poignant attack until it came out that he COULDN'T do that stuff because he was TORTURED in Vietnam.

http://www.gallup.com/poll/127481/Obama-Approval-Continues-Show-Party-A…

Look at this shit.

43% of Whites approve of Obama

89% of Blacks approve of Obama

OMG!

Holy fuck, this is insane. Bush was white, but white people absolutely hated him. 89% support for a president that hasn't done anything in a still horrible economy is lunacy. I am sorry, but that shit is absolutely irrational and plain dump.

To be fair, blacks have been voting democratic in presidential elections since 1964. But yeah, blacks' unwavering support for Obama is really sad and creepy.

Obama is the most unqualified man to be elected president in at least a hundred years. He had no executive experience, in either government, military, or the private sector. And he did not accomplish anything of note in the U.S. Senate, where he just showed up to meetings and spent his time running for president. Now, people are surprised that Obama is inept at presidential leadership. Freaking hilarious.

Yeah, I want to hear en explanation also. I have been waiting for someone to accuse me or anyone else of being a racist for simply questioning this absurdity.

I can understand a higher support number among the black community, but a 43 point different really shows what people are valuing. Personally, I cannot understand these figures. Michigan is on life support and Detroit has descended into the 7th circle of hell (a large black population). There has been almost zero job creation and if you look at unemployment figures the % of minorities unemployed is much higher than whites or those with higher education. Taxes on lower income people under the guise of cigarette tax hikes as well as alcohol taxes have increased. If anything, the life of a poor or inner city individual is even worse under Obama.

Let me say something else. Forget the black thing. If you look at the approval numbers you see a separation along income lines also. Lower income people are more supportive of the president than higher income people. I understand this because of all the anti rich rhetoric, but in reality the rich are still fine and the poor are not being hired because of the stalled economy. I suppose being poor can be related to being under educated or possessing poor reasoning skills which would all be things which would indicate support for this president.

BING BING BING...tell 'um what he's won!!!

My respect and admiration, lol.

While I think everyone should vote (whom has been educated) I feel like MTV's Vote-or-Die has probably had a negative impact on this country. This is the exact type of people who flooded the polls at the last election. Sorry if it is a re-post, I have been out of the loop lately.

Ohh, and tighten your chin strap so you don't fracture your jaw when it hits the floor.

I do agree with you about Obama's goals and his anti-business attitude.

I've said this before but I'll say it again... Obama's presidency is defined as 'Do Nothing and Say We Did'. He said he was going to close Gitmo, but that hasn't happened. He said he would end the wars, but that hasn't happened. He said he would invest in alternative energy, but I haven't really seen much of that happen. He said he would save the economy, that the stimulus would bring new jobs, but that hasn't happened. He said he would enact meaningful healthcare reform, but that hasn't happened (yes, the law was passed, but it included none of the measures that the liberals really wanted, and it really doesn't address rising costs or quality care... it only addresses expanding coverage). He said he would enact financial reform, but that hasn't happened (at least not the kind that he initially wanted).

Some might blame this on the GOP or congress, but the fact is, he is very vocal about his positions, but his actions speak louder than his words.

looking for that pick-me-up to power through an all-nighter?

I don't want to hear Obama blame anyone but himself. He is an incredibly popular president with the House and Senate on his side. He is still riding the tide of coming off a very unpopular president. He didn't have 9/11 or anything to force his hand and the media, by and large, is giving him a free pass.

If the BP thing happened under Bush's presidency he would be vilified. Non-stop humiliation. Obama goes golfing and goes to concerts and gets no grief. People in NO think he is doing a worse job than Bush did when it comes to disaster relief !!

Anyone that says "what can Obama do". You know what he can do. Deploy the military or national guard down south so the clean up effort is coordinated. Right now you have so many intra agency squabbling and private contractors fucking things up. Only the military could coordinate something this large and intricate.

Why don't we have Navy boats laying boom? Why don't we have National Guardsmen sand bagging the beach. Bush sent troops into NO. Why isn't Obama doing it?

I love how TARP is actually turning out to be profitable and not the huge mess that it was made out to be.

Oh, publicity stunt or not. Obama should of went back to Washington to do HIS JOB during this whole financial crisis. It warms my heart to know that even in the event of our economy blowing up we have people who think it is more important running for President than actually doing your elected job as a US Senator!

I'm not trying to make myself look better than others by saying this but this is no surprise to me. Anyone who paid attention to Obama after he won the Iowa caucus knows he wanted to change America into a European style welfare state. He has no executive experience. He was obviously unqualified in more ways than one to be the president of this country unfortunately they're a lot of idiots in this country which is exactly why we have the electoral college system. So a wave of idiots don't vote in a president who is unqualified. Unfortunately, when Obama was elected he came at the right time and knew how to speak a lot with saying nothing of value. The people of average and below average intelligence bought this up and voted for him rather than McCain. He might be smart but that doesn't mean shit. There is a lot more to being president than being "smart". If your decision making ability is flawed (Obama's) it doesn't matter how smart you are, you will ultimately make the wrong decision.

nearly all of my Jewish friends LOVED Obama even though he is closely affiliated with people who are againist Israel..I just wanted to slap them.

Hahaha, I almost forgot about that Peace Prize. The Nobel committee was riding his dick like the youtube video says. Then again Al Gore and Jimmy Carter won Peace Prizes so I guess they have been worthless for a while.

2 wars still going on 1 detention center still going on Relations with China are shit Relations with Israel are shit Not that much better than Russia

The UK is losing their love for Obama

This mid term election is going to be real telling.

The Howard Stern show's bit in Harlem was ridiculous. I can't believe these people are allowed to fucking vote.

I thought McCain was/is a dirtbag too though. He's really just a bumbling old douchebag at this point.

Sorry guys, I just can't stop.

NASA is supposed to make Muslims feel good about their contributions to math and science. Are you F'ing kidding me. An agency that once put a man on the Moon and a rover on Mars is no supposed to be diplomatic??? Why the hell is this fool even talking to a new agency which is pretty anti western?

What the hell is going on lately??

Hahaha LOL This YouTube video is being posted on my Facebook. I RARELY post anything. Thanks CPH.

I love Savage.

I really do not understand the whole immigration issue. As far as I am concerned it always comes down to this argument:

"Illegal immigration is ok because they do jobs US citizens don't want to do"

Wait, please read what I just wrote. I hear this all the time. This is probably the most offensive thing ever. What a wonderful rationalization.

I totally support LEGAL immigration. Every country protects its borders, even Mexico. I would even go so far to say that I might support an expedited immigration since Mexico and the United States share so much industry and borders. What I DO NOT support is a free for all.

Mexico isn't even that bad in comparison to other countries. I don't want legal US citizens to feel unwelcome, but I do not think it is wrong to simply check if someone is in this country illegally. If you read the articles against the Arizona law it always bring up profiling, making people scared of law enforcement or over taxing police resources.

1) Profiling is not bad. If you are looking for a runaway Tiger you do not inspect dogs. It is pretty simple. You get pulled over and the cop asks you for identification. Bam, you have a license and you are fine or no, you don't and you might be illegal. We are not asking people from Mexico to do anything we don't ask Indian or Chinese immigrants to do. They don't feel outraged do they? I don't see Indians or Chinese people protesting this law?

2) Fear the police? If you are a legal immigrant nothing is going to happen. There are a TON of Americans of Mexican descent in the south. The police are not trying to deport or harass them. I would even go so far as to say that in the south there is a large amount of Spanish political influence to prevent abuse. We just cannot allow everyone under the sun to come here. Try being illegal in Mexico and tell me if we are unfair.

3) Cops being over taxed? Are you kidding me? Stop fining and ticketing people for bullshit and start doing something of value. You are supposed to enforce the law. Well go enforce it.

I just don't understand it. Try illegally immigrating to Europe and see how far you get. To Mexico, China, anywhere. Why is it in the USA we don't have a right to protect our borders.

And F U Federal Government. Immigration enforcement is a sole privilege of the Federal Government huh? Well after years and years of doing nothing states finally had to step up and do something. Oh, Mexican President. Kiss my ass, all the way from America. How dare you criticize us when you have a war in your own country you cannot stop.

I recommend the HBO movie "Gotti" (starring Armand Assante and William Forsythe) to all who are interested in this topic. It is worth it for one great scene where John Gotti (Assante) and Sammy "The Bull" Gravano (Forsythe) are walking on the beach and Gotti says: "The Feds are a business Sammy. If we don't go down, they don't get paid".

I think some people on this site and most outside of it don't realize that the identity cult known as "The Presidency" is just that. The government behind Obama is a hungry Hydra that needs to feed all of its heads to stay alive. This, after all is the Left's approach to politics.

I use the Hollywood analogy, because today I found out who Obama's speech writer is...

JOHN FAVREAU!?!?!?!

Couldn't they at least have gotten one of the guys from Swingers who could get laid on his own?

This administration falls further into hyperbole every day and this President (as I repeated to deaf ears in 08) is/was not even qualified to make PARTNER AT HIS OWN CHICAGO LAW FIRM.

Why would he support business, when his own presidency is a WELFARE PRESIDENCY.

Don't you guys have jobs? I thought we were all masters of the universe and could put in whatever president we wanted.

Look. We get it. Obama=Lenin to you guys. Just wake me up when times square becomes red square 2.0. Oh wait, I'll be dead cause it ain't never gonna happen. We're gonna change a little bit. But anyone who thinks we will be france in 7 years is wrong.

Thanks for posting all my thoughts for me, it saved me a good bit of time...which is great because I was a little busy today, lol.

You make great points.

I personally believe the starting points are the jails and prisons around our country. Let all these illegals know that it's their lucky day and that they are being released early...but it will be to a cargo bus/ship that will be taking them back to their country of origin. Then you start chipping away at the numbers as the police run across them through traffic stops, domestic disputes, etc.

It's ironic how the word "fair" gets used endlessly when liberals want to take your money but its no where to be found when they are speaking about the amount of taxes an illegal pays (or doesn't pay) or the amount of publicly funded services they devour without regard.

I guess it isn't a big deal since Obama can just fund it from his "stash" lol.

Liberals have high educations also.

This is an argument for the sake of discussion. Luckily people are strong in their beliefs of freedom and America which makea sure we will not be like France.

I wonder if it's possible for me to go a single day (ok, half to be fair) on the non-political blogs I frequent without hearing one mention of Obama in the commentary.

E! News Online.....Linday Lohan going to jail....It's Obama's fault. Food Forum.........Unseasonable drought.. Blame Obama Cars Blog .....Ferrari released new supercar...Obama's fault ESPN.... LeBron remains undecided....Blame Obama Conde Nast Travellers blog, hotel in Paris evacuated. That Obama at it again! Real Estate Blog, Manhattan apartment prices rise.. Obama Obama Obama.

If I read another thing about Obama my head will explode. Take this shit to politico.com

Sheesh.....now I know why I rarely vote and generally ignore political conversations all together. Every four to eight years, there will be a new president "destroying" the United States. Does this crap ever end?

Ugh.

Thanks for adding so much Samantha.

You know, I post a lot. Sometimes I get sick and tired of hearing about piss tests, what school to go to, non target this and non target that. A good debate is pretty healthy. People can bitch and moan, but you tell me where else you can really get into a debate on a topic. Can't do it at work, don't dare do it at a bar and don't bring it up with friends.

We have experienced her "wit" on other forum topics and it turns my stomach.

P.S. by "friends" she is referring to the rest of the single/divorced, men hating members of the Tribeca chapter of NOW.
