Opt Out of the Recession

Out of the (literally) 200 or so press releases to come across my desk today, this one caught my eye. It is the brainchild of a Philadelphia advertising agency that, I'm guessing, ultimately wants to encourage consumers to spend their way out of the recession.

Here's the Wall Street hook: if you sign up to "opt out of the recession", you'll get your name in the Wall Street Urinal when they pay for a large ad in the Spring. Based on some of the questions and comments I've read on this site, it's the only chance some of you will ever have to see your name in the Journal, trust me.

The website is NoRecessionForMe.us and while it's mostly kinda lame, it is marginally clever. And remember, it's not geared toward Masters of the Universe like us, so understand if it's a little elementary. It'll be interesting to see if it gets any legs.
