You've named one of the few countries that fit into my category of "not for all the tea in China". Abject hatred of westerners, a very real prospect of being abducted and decapitated and more corruption than you can dream of. The whole country is obviously not all like that, but I'd bet my bottom dollar you can't spot the difference between those that are and arent.

Agree with above. Pakistan = shit-hole.

Plus you'll need serious connections to break into Indus Basin. It's run by basically a collection of the various elite, land-holding families of the Punjab.

are you Pakistani? What makes you want to do an internship in a place like that?

...i don't even...i'll put it this way: my ex was from Karachi (a safe place there) and she was too scared to go back without her father going with her. She spoke Sindhi and Urdu and looked Pakistani (not even Indian, Pakistani), and still she would have problems.

My drinkin' problem left today, she packed up all her bags and walked away.

North Indians and Pakistanis are indistinguishable. Same ethnicity.

Thanks guys!
I understand why everyone is scared but I really feel like I've got to give something back to the country - and my financial skills and drive are all I can give at the moment as after 3 years of studying in London I don't have much cash :)

lol if you think that Karachi is one of the safest places in Pakistan.

I know nothing about Pakistan (you misspelt it in the title of this thread), but I think you should go for it if it's just an internship before a guaranteed full time job. At the very least you'll have some cool stories.

Don't pursue it full time unless you are committed to a permanent career there though... That could be career suicide if you have aspirations to transition to another country.

There's more to the way someone looks than their ethnicity
