Recommend a Major for me Please

I'm still choosing between schools but its likely I'll go to a non-target (UW). It's ranked like 6 for CS and I got into CS so it will be my primary major. But would you guys recommend Math as a second major or Econ. CS/Math may be a little too nerdy for my taste while CS/Econ sounds cooler. Math seems more useful though since Econ can often be a biased joke of a degree.

Note: I may apply for financial engineering programs or try to get a job in HF after business school since it's unlikely I'll get fantastic finance offers after undergrad.

I like the econ route. It's considered sufficiently "quant" by most firms and MFE programs, and will be probably be more interesting than math (very theoretical, lots of redundancy with CS anyways). Econ is not considered a joke degree at all, and isn't grouped with business administration or humanities. If you major in econ, your assertion that you won't get finance offers" is also false. Assuming you do well, a decent GPA in econ gets you a lot farther these days in IB/S&T than a good finance/BBA GPA, since it indicates you have certain quantitative abilities.

NYFINANCEDUDECS & ECON - too many CS/MATH guys can solve problems and build models, but can't come up with original ideas, write or even speak.

HAHAHAHA ah shit, I needed a good laugh.

Please don't make me talk to you like an asshole...

How the hell would majoring in econ fix that? Just because econ majors tend to be more articulate (not necessarily saying that's true) than CS/Math guys doesn't mean that majoring in econ will make you more articulate.

You haven't even told us what you want to do. If you're considering financial engineering, then I assume you're interested in quant? If so then easily CS/Math. Remember you can learn all the econ stuff on your own, it's really not that hard. It all depends on what you want to do though.

I said I probably won't get fantastic finance offers because I will be at a non-target. It's simply too big of a factor even if I have a 3.7+ GPA.

Also, after school I may get a job in tech/consulting and go to business school later. Career options could be in HF, PE or VC. I might want to become a quant which is why I posted here specifically. But I heard being a quant sucks though..

Anyone know what specifically I could get out of studying CS and Econ? I've seen a couple of successful people who have done it.

I like the originality of your sig block

As do I. Your sig is one of a kind as well.
