Ron Paul- wow- just wow
Wow, I just saw that Ron Paul is actually defending Romney. Maybe I am just in a state of disbelief, but how often does a candidate actually defend his biggest competitor?
Is it simply a ploy to come off like a good guy?
Is he really a good guy?
Are there any other politicians that actually aren't full of shit?
Does this help his campaign?
So many questions!
Anyway, just hoping to get some thoughts on whether or not everyone thinks this has any impact on his candidacy. I am for Paul, but I don't think he can win. I wonder if this kind of move might make Americans realize that not all politicians have to be lying douche bags.
Thoughts?
Absolutely not. Americans will always continue to swallow any shit from a pretty-enough anus. Most people do, after all, regardless of country [see: Human Centipede].
I'm for RP as well, but he's fucked. He's too honest to be in office, and it's the reason he won't make it. Think about it: Ron Paul wins, things get done, life may even become easier. It's too boring; we need someone who's agenda is to totally fuck stuff up, whether through massive spending or unprecedented military action. Makes for awesome news coverage and summer blockbusters.
An honest man. He's earning more and more respect. I hope this 2nd place finish in NH finally gets him legitimate media coverage as a candidate. Also good to see Huntsman do so well, that is a man I would LOVE to see in 2016.
What do you like about Hunstman? Genuinely curious because to me he is literally no different than Obama. Besides maybe Healthcare I seriously don't see one difference between them.
Ron Paul isn't going to get legitimate news coverage because most news organizations don't feel he is a legitimate candidate. Some will say they don't cover him because it's a big conspiracy but exit polling (supposedly) shows that 'electability' is a big priority for voters and most voters don't think that Ron Paul could be Obama and many don't think he would be a safe choice for American given his 'isolationist' approach.
And please, I'm not bashing RP, just pointing out why he won't get a ton of coverage from the mainstream media.
Regards
Right, and no one thinks Santorum is electable, or Bachmann (when she was running), but they both get plenty of coverage and are spoken about as serious candidates. It's a total joke.
RP would be a killer running mate honestly.
No way Romney would pick him or would he accept a VP spot. They are too diametrically opposed on the issues it just wouldn't work.
I am thinking Romney will pick Chris Christie
You serious OP? Ron Paul is an honest man and is not going to desperately smear capitalism for political gain. He has been like that for 30 years and that is the reason he has such staunch supporters. Romney shouldn't be attacked for his Bain stint, but should be attacked for being on the wrong side of every issue, only Paul can attack him there though.
I'm not sure I understand what your wrote. Are you calling him honest or being sarcastic? Sorry, my fourth jack on the rocks tonight might be skewing my ability to infer here.
I agree that Romney shouldn't be attacked for his Bain shit, which is why I'm proud of Ron for defending it and calling out those other clowns for what they are doing. All I was saying is that he could have easily jumped on the bandwagon and dissed Romney on the same platform but didn't. He actually said that he was taken out of context, did a good thing at Bain, and these idiots don't understand economics or are simply using this as a tool to twist shit. I'm not saying that he doesn't have other avenues to attack on, or that Romney doesn't deserve attacking. Just that the shit about Bain and his out of context quote on firing people is not a reason to do so, and is only rhetoric and propaganda using buzz words to confuse the majority of the idiots that actually vote.
Yeah I am agreeing with you and I think Paul is an honest man.
i think the word principled over honest too far from the american electorate to be president, same reason he won't get onto a ticket might get a committee chairmanship out of it though
An honest man.
I agree that he is actually too honest to be president. I just don't get how the public can be so stupid. It drives me crazy that the main things that actually matter to voters are retarded shit that really have no bearing on anything.
Who honestly gives a fuck if gays can get married? Seriously? What impact does it really have on the personal well being of the country? None. Who gives a fuck about abortion? Cool, you think it's not okay for a woman to get one cause of your religious beliefs, but is that more important than mortgaging your children's future for NOTHING (pork waste) in the form of debt? Or you think she should be able to get one and are still more concerned about that than the well being of yourself and your progeny. Etc.
Just blows my mind. Still. I am a little older than most of you and have seen and voted in quite a few elections. Nothing surprises me anymore about the idiocy of the voting block. Nothing. The only things that really mater to people are not their freedoms, but random shit (they have been fed by the media) that are really insignificant to themselves and their well being (not to mention that of our country as a whole).
I've been duped before by the whole political pandering, thinking that maybe this time will be different, but alas it never is. I just wish people would wake up and realize that. When I see something like this, it's incredibly refreshing and gives me hope. Come on now, someone willing to actually be honest and truthful, as a politician running for office, ridiculous! It shouldn't be this way. All these douchebags work for us, the people (although it's hard to believe given history), and yet they never actually serve, the people.
Sorry about my rant, but i am just fed up. I think it's incredible to see someone actually be honest and truthful, not to mention stand up FOR a competitor when he has clearly been misquoted and taken out of context, yet I feel like it will be lost on most. Everything will revert back to religion, socialism, gay marriage, immigration, and some other shit that really solves nothing (nor does it provide any actual solutions).
Arrghhh. Thats all I'm left with and feel these days, aarrrggghhhh!
Great post.
I wasn't a huge Ron Paul fan before, and maybe I'm just naive, but the speech he just made an hour ago made me actually believe that he would do something and actually FOLLOW THROUGH on his campaign promises...unlike every other candidate I've watched.
People always talk about how all politicians are the same, they all repeat the same drivel, blah, blah, blah. But Ron Paul is clearly someone that would break the status quo of government and has the chance to be a landmark president, IMO.
I agree, and I think that's the problem. Someone that might actually accomplish something can't become president. It would fuck shit up too much for TPTB. That's what's so sad. Someone that actually wants to do something outside the status quo gets no love. They get totally ignored.
That's what I'm saying. He's better than Romney, and if we're going to get a mainstream, typical party-line candidate, I'd rather it be him than a white-skinned version of Obama (Romney).
