Sending emails to Alumni

I found most (8/10 let's say) responded. You've just got to make sure you're humble and give them the flexibility. Talk whenever they are free.

i was very humble and only asked if they had wouldnt mind answering a few questions about their industry and thanked them for their time.

but yea only 3 out of 11 so far replied. Im happy because thats 3 more connections than I had last week and one of them is seems very helpful and is a CTO a company that I like.

Unfortunately an MD from a BB firm hasn't gotten back to me I really would have liked to talk to them.

I would just keep in mind how busy they are. You are at the bottom of their list of things to do. Follow up with the ones that did not respond in a week. Mentioned how you emailed them last week and reiterate that you would like the chance to speak with them.

I found that many of the people who did not respond the first time I emailed them responded the second time.

so its ok to follow up to non responding ones after about 2 weeks?

. You want to be persistent, but not overly-aggresive. Don't scare them off. A week-two weeks is fine. Reiterate that you are flexible and that you know they're busy, but you would appreciate hearing their experiences.

I'd say around 30-40% responded to my emails.
