Sessions - Getting kicked out of WSO?

Hey guys, we just noticed a setting that has been kicking our authenticated users out every 2 weeks? Has this been happening to you or do you stay logged in somehow?

Thanks,
Patrick

This has happened to me recently, but it doesn't really bother me. Since you're running Drupal 7.x, note that occasionally when you run update.php (e.g. when you up core) you're clearing both your cache & sessions table, meaning everyone will be logged out. You could preserve the data and repopulate the table, but it would be a colossal waste of time. If you're concerned about the size of your database, consider wiping dblog and watchdog instead.

I've noticed this happening both on mobile and my computer. I don't know if it is exactly two weeks, but it does happen occasionally.

Also, this has happened several times in the past: 1. I will click on a link and will notice that I'm logged out. 2. After logging back in, when I navigate back to that original post, I will be logged out again but only on that page.

Yes it happens but I don't know about every 2 weeks. I hadn't gone on WSO for a while because I got busy doing other things and I had no problem just hitting my bookmark after a couple of months but then randomly I'll be asked to login again, and it's been happening for a long time. It seems random and not even device dependent. I never thought it was a problem and just thought it was a pw thing.

I stay logged in fine. Having issues quoting people at times though. Also, sometimes giving bananas works but throwing shit doesn't. Neither happen every time either.

I've been getting kicked out too. Not terribly active with posting and all, but is cumbersome to have to log in to read all the comments in a post. Two weeks sounds about right

thanks guys - much appreciated. Believe it or not, after some investigation and looking at past #s, I'm about 95% sure this was having a dramatic (negative) impact on user participation ...just based on what has happening before and after some changes to sessions settings several YEARS ago.

I'll try not to jump off a bridge. The good news is this should stop happening as frequently. SMH
