Thanks WSO - SA in AM

I just want to give a shout-out to the WSO team and all the monkeys that take the time to post regularly on the site.

After a poor recruitment preparation last spring, I consider myself lucky to get my SA in Asset Management. Keeping up with WSO over the summer, I devoted myself to learn everything I could about trying to land a banking position, as well as other seemingly trivial yet vital info to help prep for interviews (i.e. why this city?, or what to wear). Much in part to the advice offered on WSO, and persistence, I was able to land a FT banking position - its one of the best feelings in the world.

Potential Monkeys out there, don't take for granted all the resources available to you on this site - I can't stress this enough. And most importantly, never give up - the hiring environment sucks, I know, but there are positions out there. There is a reason we all want to go into this field - we are driven to be successful in all that we do. Consider the hiring landscape as your first career challenge, and if you treat it as such, you can't fail.

Thanks Varmint - first off, congrats on the offer!

We would love to have you more active in the forums and come back as a Certified User once you have some more experience under your belt.

Always great to hear these success stories....super motivating for me personally to keep making improvements to WSO. I am SUPER excited about our new WSO Company Database (//www.wallstreetoasis.com/wso-company-database) and the finance dictionary which we will be announcing soon...

Thanks again for sharing, Patrick

I echo that! I was also recently able to do a swtich from mid-office to PE largely due to the help and advice received on this site!

Congrats on the offer

Thanks guys, to have this group of supporters is nothing more than I could have hoped for..

PlusMinus - if you're already reading this sight as a sophomore, keep up - you're on the right track. Every resource you need is here, and more. I wish you the best

bobo - good to hear another success story. As I'm sure you've found out, it ain't easy, but well worth the effort. Congrats bro.

In the war against you and the other qualified candidates out there, the best arsenal is to prove that you have outdone yourself.

Stats?

The difference between successful people and others is largely a habit - a controlled habit of doing every task better, faster and more efficiently.
