What Ethnicity?

I can't help but notice that the #1 Hot Topic right now, "White People for Romney"... is written in a way that implies that the WSO reader is White. Mind you, I was not really offended or anything (personally not a big fan of PC garbage), but it did make me wonder what the actual ethnic demographic of this site is.

So... for those of you who are willing to cooperate, please answer my unofficial poll: what ethnicity are you??

EDIT: Tally results at: http://www.surveybuilder.com/s/IKa6w9ceYAA (thanks sxh!).

a White (European heritage) b Black c Hispanic/Latino (of any race) D East/Southeast Asian (Chinese, Vietnamese, Korean, etc..) E South Asian (Indian, Pakistani, Sri Lankan, etc...) f Middle Eastern/North African (Arab, Iranian, Morrocan, etc...) g Pacific Islander H Native American (American Indians, South American tribal... etc.) i Mixed/Other

Disclaimer: As an avid WSO user, this is purely out of curiosity of our demographics and I don't mean to pry... boy I hope this doesn't start a shitstorm.

My guess at the demographics of site:

Race: 50% white 18% asian 15% south east asian (MENA, Paki, Indian) 11% black 5% latino 1% other

Policial breakdown: 45% GOP / libertarian / conservative 30% Democratic / liberal 15% Centrist / swing voter 10% Other / apolitical

I object that you put us South Asians with MENA Arabs. Brown skin does not mean the same people. SE Asian=/= MENA Arab.

There should be sub categories for white people: Northern European, Southern European or Eastern European. Are Jews a separate race or ethnicity? I'm confused on that.

I agree that MENA folks and South Asians are different enough to warrant their own groups. The main idea was to separate Indians and others from people from the "Muslim World". As for Whites... while I agree that there is a lot of diversity within this group, I'm assuming that most WSO patrons are in the US, and US Whites tend to be mutts, like part German, Irish, Czech, Italian, and a little bit of Cherokee or something. I swear, all white people are part Cherokee...

Oh, and about the whole Jewish thing... just identify yourself as your ethnicity. In a way, being a Jew is a lot like Hispanic/Latino, since you can be either white, black, middle-eastern, etc, but still be a Jew. I could have included it in the list above, but ultimately decided against it...
