Hey all, I'm posting up a poll soon for member of the year, I came up with this list of nominees (sorry if I forgot anyone!), please let me know if there's anyone else I should include.
Also, need nominations for forum discussion of the year. Thanks!

Not in last place. Niiiice.
Don't worry. You will get the "Wilt Chamberlain Rule" again like last time.
Comeback WSO user of the year nominees: Eddie Braverman and CompBanker
Most hated thread: "Should I get my coworker's coffee?"
haha he won't get the Chamberlain rule, DF is in the running, DingDong won last year but hasn't been very active in the last 6 months so would really be in the running anyways
good call on come back members of the year, and yes love that coffee thread :-)
Idk about CompBanker being a comeback user if you're including Eddie in there...Eddie posts an well thought out topic every week. Comp Banker has like 2 comments a month.
Compbanker was the GOAT before Dickfuld joined and gave some good advice this year on the forums and chat.
I get what you're saying though. It's kinda like Kobe scoring 60 points in his last game but being a scrub the past 2 years.
Ouch. I imagine this must be what it feels like when celebrities read "mean tweets" on youtube...
hahaha, you have a bookie you recommend? preferably someone that delivers fedex
can you please add NY_Giantz previously WeiPeng to the list of nominees? thnx
inb4 someone votes for himself/herself
edit: oops too late
I don't do it for the glory.
hahahaha, you win contrarian of the year
what ever happened to GreyFox? that guy was good...
he was exceptional. haven't seen him/her around
Nominating Hugh Myron
Thanks Andy
Appreciated, thank you sir.
In all honestly, I think you're the most underrated user on the site. Didn't even realize you were above 10,000 points.
Solid list and am honored to be considered. Anyone on that list would be a good choice.
I thought this was a good thread:

Also, Going Concern
+1, thanks, will add him in
@Virginia Tech 4ever"
He consistently makes substantive and genuine posts, even if many disagree with his opinion. I doubt he would win, but I would say the same for others on that list. You should either make it smaller and increase the quality of the candidates, or throw him in as well.
i agree, I will add him in
Thread of the Year
yessssssss
SEC sent Shade back to his safe space.
Lizard Brain
Agreed, one of the funniest in the game
Nominations are good, but which candidate wants to deport illegals?
We have more than enough Election 2016 threads for you to figure that one out, Jack Ryan
So how is the winner determined?
Electoral college of non-targets, semi-targets, and targets.

Most importantly, what does the winner receive?
I have a feeling fear the bulge's voters won't show up at the poll like Hillary.
winner gets a solid silver banana that can either be used as a trophy, a weapon, or for bedroom activities.
whoever wins, he/she will definitely be fearing that bulge
I stopped reading at DickFuld
clear winner
No doubt. I would say that he's slipped off his game a little but it's like comparing Michael Jordan in 1992 to Michael Jordan in 1996. Still the GOAT.
I'm usually a sucker for thebrofessor or my fellow quant IlliniProgrammer. Over the years, these two individuals (among others) have consistently made significant contributions to the lives of others. Even so, geoffblades went through the forum like a steamroller this year.
The establishment or the outsider? Interesting question, given the events of the past year...
eh imo geoff posts click-bait threads filled with motivational buzzwords
Many have echoed your opinion. Indeed, its obvious that Geoff tries to market his posts far more than others on the forum. Even so, that doesn't necessarily mean that there's something wrong with the informational content.
This d-bag: http://www.wallstreetoasis.com/forums/if-youre-a-tall-good-looking-guy-…
Lol, I hadn't seen that post. What about the guy who was talking about his girlfriend staying with him during college while she goes to Arizona? He talked himself up as a D1 college football player, incredibly smart, a shoe-in for investment banking, and then people found out he was a kicker on a shitty team.
that shit was legendary. I believe he was a punter for dartmouth, and had less humility than fear the bulge...except he was being 100% serious
Oh man, +SB for bringing that up, I haven't seen that before.
Laughed so hard at the question, is there particular type on Wall Stret where you can make a lot of money not giving a fuck about anyone."
Three words: Fear The Bulge......
Also bullish thebrofessor
Bearish DickFuld. He hasn't been the same since he came out of the closet. I miss the forums with pathetic kids asking him about Lehman Bros
ftb hasn't even been a member for a whole year yet so I don't think he should get it. As I said before Dickfuld is the Michael Jordan of WSO. Right now he's like the 96-98 version, still good enough to be member of the year but not as good as he was with the Non-target to BB CEO.
@brofessor ftw.
I nominate the most recent guy who registered.
Congrats to whomever it is.
Andy, I fully hope you add him to the poll.
I'm voting for thebrofessor
^ this
poll going up today!
Hands down for thebrofessor
Brexit all over again, Fear the Bulge is winning for sure.
thebrofessor for actual meaningful contributions, FTB for entertainment value. If only I had two votes to give.
hmm good idea
maybe after this one ill do "who was the most helpful member in 2016?"
don't do it for me Andy, I don't want a WSO participation trophy
Brofessor killed it in '16. That dude is a personal finance guru and gives some of the most levelheaded and soundest advice on this forum.
AndyLouis UnbreakableGlass : f*cking haters, bro
As I sip my Woodford & creatine, it's easy to envision the winner of best historical fiction of the year.
New to WSO so i think my vote wouldn't be as objective as it should, and also I am in a field with few active chat-Trader Ags. I need to build street cred. But for one to win, there needs to be a candidate who is fills the numbers. I hereby nominate myself for Member of the year
Guys, we got cropdusted hard. 1 MS apiece on this thread
Yeah, shout out to the loser who did that. They're the real member of the year.
Somebody in here really likes throwing monkey shit.
That's what happens when half of the forum members are 14 year olds who wanted to HYP->BB->PE since they were in utero
I'm just posting to see if I get MS. Having a shitty day, so I wouldn't mind some more crap thrown at me
still throwing in LongIslandBound
