Small brokerage firm wants me to cold call for them?
I want to get into trading, and I found this unpaid intern at a small brokerage firm in New York. I spoke with the head, and he said the work would be cold calling to generate a list of potential leads, pass them along to the brokers, and they will do the sales call. He also said that he will give me other work later on but did not specify what the work would be. Do you guys think it's a waste of time to take this intern position?
Is the firm J.T. Marlin?
Haha
Out of curiosity, what firm is it?
Well if no other options, take it, but it doesn't seem ideal. I had a cold calling internship my freshmen year in college and it was wasn't really fun but i learned to respect the skill and realized the importance of sales so you could still get benefits from the internship. But keep looking for something else. Also, see if the ppl that work there could help you in your networking efforts.
What's wrong with J.T. Marlin?
I hope this is a joke
