About how much are you spending on lunch per day?
I'm averarging around $15... Part of the problem is I Seamless most of my lunches, so I'm paying a slight premium.
In NYC btw.

$8-10 in Stamford, CT
That's about what I spend when I get coffee with lunch. The second lunch is usually cheaper.
$6-10 BB Cafe so pretty cheap for what you get Usually $4-8 for breakfast, too.
Generally $8-12 in Toronto.
$8-10 in NYC.
Why are you Seamless-ing most of the time?
why can't you just go downstairs at get a gyro or something? takes no more than 10 minutes
I was spending anywhere from 5-15 dollars on lunch depending on where I went, but now I wait until 9 ish to eat breakfast, and then have a small snack if needed and then just wait til I get home to have dinner. In NYC.
$7-10 here in Chicago
free lunch errday son. I also jump on catering after clients leave. soup of the day? I think so.
NYC
Lunch $9-11 Breakfast $4-6
Will you look like a dumbass if you bring your own lunch? Does anyone do that or is that a "first day as an intern" move? I will be an SA this summer and trying to watch weight/stay in shape so I was thinking of making my own lunch.
Do whatever you want
No! I eat two breakfasts, lunches, and dinners. Bringing food as backup is essential when I don't have the time to get something. As long as you're not dumping your anchovy cans in your boss's trash, you should be fine.
I want to do this, but I have 2 concerns:
This takes a lot of space. I already carry gym stuff, work stuff, and school stuff with me. Would it be weird to carry a gym bag to work? What about a black leather duffle?
It's hard for me to justify to myself passing up free food at this point in life. And work has free, although unhealthy, food.
I bring lunch most days. No issue, no one cares.
Otherwise Ill grab an egg sandwich for $1.50 and then another $10 on lunch
10 (bargain food)-20 (decent meal)
Sydney's cost of living is ridiculous.
$20 at a food court and $25-30 for a sit-down. Zurich, switzerland...
$8 for lunch, $4 for breakfast.
