$8-10 in Stamford, CT

That's about what I spend when I get coffee with lunch. The second lunch is usually cheaper.

$6-10 BB Cafe so pretty cheap for what you get Usually $4-8 for breakfast, too.

I was spending anywhere from 5-15 dollars on lunch depending on where I went, but now I wait until 9 ish to eat breakfast, and then have a small snack if needed and then just wait til I get home to have dinner. In NYC.

Will you look like a dumbass if you bring your own lunch? Does anyone do that or is that a "first day as an intern" move? I will be an SA this summer and trying to watch weight/stay in shape so I was thinking of making my own lunch.

No! I eat two breakfasts, lunches, and dinners. Bringing food as backup is essential when I don't have the time to get something. As long as you're not dumping your anchovy cans in your boss's trash, you should be fine.

I want to do this, but I have 2 concerns:

  1. This takes a lot of space. I already carry gym stuff, work stuff, and school stuff with me. Would it be weird to carry a gym bag to work? What about a black leather duffle?

  2. It's hard for me to justify to myself passing up free food at this point in life. And work has free, although unhealthy, food.
